I'm planning on buying a new computer, and as much as I'd love to build my own...i'm kinda lazy. So I checked out ibuypower.com, and they seem to have some pretty nice rigs there.

Do you guys have any opinions on their systems? Would it be more beneficial for me to buy one, or to buy parts from newegg and build my own? I'm kinda torn on what I should do.

Just build your own. It's not difficult and you'll save quite a bit of money. Even a first-time build doesn't take more than one weekend afternoon unless you're completely braindead.

I know I can definitely build the computer with little to no problems. The biggest problem I have right now is matching up a motherboard to the CPU I want.

I just built my recent computer and made sure it had 0 neon lights for that reason. Most annoying shit ever.

If you know exactly what parts you want, build your own, prebuilt won't satisfy you probably.

If you want the best deal (price to performance), hit up deal sites and probably get a dell.

People who say you can get the cheapest building your own don't know what they are talking about. There are previous threads about this, I would search a little. The arguments have been re-hashed a few times.

Built my first in one PC store a few years ago, cost me like $850 or something and it's still up and running today. Can handle all the games that're out right now. Except Lord of the Rings Online. ; ;

Newegg and zipzoomfly are great, but I still like to shop around as much as possible, so I use pricewatch.com alot.

I bought my comp from there because I was lazy. Cost me $794 including shipping and that was 2 years ago. Only thing I've done to it since then is upgrade the video card, and it plays all the newer games with no problem on the high settings. Really reliable company.

If you're going to buy a premade one I'd say buy it off a major brand like Dell ._. You may have to talk to someone who's first language is very obviously not english but at least something will get done about your problem so long as it's under warranty. But from what I've read on other sites about ibuypower is that if your computer works, great! if it has a problem.... LOL @ you. Their customer support is appearantly fucking terrible, if not out right useless.

If your concern is if those will work together or not or something, sharkyextreme has that same motherboard listed as an option for their intel based computer in a fairly recent buyer's guide.

Go to resellerratings.com, view the amount of complaints against ibuypower, then look at a dell and build one yourself. Myself and a friend made the mistake of purchasing from ibuypower, neither machine lasted more than 6 months.

That's why you don't buy from consumer accounts. Small Business/ Government/Medium Business/Employee Purchase Plans/Educational ALL have US Tech and Cust. support

EPPs with any company will get you more bang-for-buck than building your own. But I'm building my own for sheer enjoyment, so meh.

also, you CAN get on/off toggles for your LED lights. scary, I know.
