    Question about AMII

So I had was having a discussion with a friend of mine last night about the wording of AMII. It states that the MB Damage is upped by 3%, but also states that there is a MACC bonus +5%. Now, the wording from Wiki for Burst II is as follows:

Myself and a couple other people interpret this to mean that the MB damage + only applies to when the spell is bursted (obviously), but the MACC bonus is there regardless of whether the spell is bursted or not. I'm mainly wondering what other people think about the wording, and how they understand it.

I know that for some the answer may seem simple, but as we all know the wording on certain things in FFXI is very open for interpretation.

Checking the wording of my JP version:

Yeah it clearly talks about MBs and MACC seperated. "Magicburstdamagebonus" is Katakana and the "Magic Acc" is full kanji. Goes like...

"Power of FlareII Magicburstdamagebonus +3, Magicacc+5 doing"

Seems the Magicacc is there always.

You are correct, the m. acc bonus is always in effect, the damage bonus kicks in during magic bursts.

My random would be Tornado due to the sheer volume of Ouryu and Kirin D:

but...but...but... what about aspid! i mean, it's such a hard fight, we'd best gear up heavily to take on such a tough mob!</sarcasm>

SCs do have places on HNM, though. JoL you skillchain distortion/darkness on to burst ice (except when he's in ice mode ofc) and a handful of others. i wouldn't call it the norm, as most things can just be overwhelmed (especially with merits. i remember needing a skillchain to get a good nuke on kirin. HA!) but on some fights that are more controlled than just a DL zerg rush, skillchains are quite effective.

The only thing we bother SC'ing on anymore is Fafnir really, and only then just because our BLM like putting up big numbers for a change after CoP's nerf-r-us on it.

JoL usually gets SAM-burned for us, Ouryu and the other wyrms are just free-nuked usually.

    3 Burst 1 Flood 1 Tornado 1 Freeze

Tornado and Flood are nice for their resistance-down effect while still dealing a respectable amount of damage on things like CoP wyrms, JoL, etc. Flood in particular has always given me nice results against Tiamat. Also nice to have an AM2 for each god in lolsky.

I have the same set up and I love it. I only ever MB with Burst and the rest are really good for situational stuff, flare and quake just blow for the most part.

I have this setup as well only reason you would ever use quake is lolhope, and there have been a couple cases where i've thought "hmm flare II would be kinda useful here" but usually because its something retarded like firesday or jormy
