Graphics problem

Well this is an odd problem I've been having. My graphics in game are good and stuff. But the problem is when I load POL the graphics turn to complete shit like colors are missing and it loads super slow. Anyone have any idea what to do?

That happened to me before. I installed Half life 2 along with Direct x9 and it broke POL. I was never able to fix the problem but I quit the game for a year, came back and the problem was gone. The only advice I can give you is to system restore ASAP (I tried to system restore but it was months after I installed HL2) and hope the problem goes away. And it's best to remember what you did that might have caused that problem so you won't make that mistake again.

P.S. Just remembered someone in my old LS had the same problem caused by installing HL2 but he was able to system restore to fix everything.

I got the same problem after installing HL2 a long time ago too i think.. i dont remember how i fixed it though.. ><

Yes I have an ATI card. I didnt have this problem before, but I had to upgrade my drivers because this patch caused a ton of random graphical glitches that this fixed. But now my pol is super ugly and slow. -.-

Thats a Directx issue please use the program dxdiag.exe on your pc to check your directx version!

i had the exact same thing happen, and interestingly enough, the fix for POL is that had to change resolution to 800x600 for POL to run normally, any higher and it got that slow grainy look to it. happened after i did a driver update on a radeon, even rollbacks and everything wouldnt fix it.

If you have and ATI card make sure you enable "Support DXT texture formats". Dont ask me why you have to do that now manually blame ATI. Hopefully that works i had the same issue before.

Oh my god no way, I've had this issue a long time ago and couldn't figure out what the problem was. I was able to play all my other games (like Phantasy Star Universe) perfectly fine but PlayOnline was being a huge bitch. So I just uninstalled the new videocard drivers and played using the default drivers that came with the videocard. Unfortunately I wasn't able to play any other game with the old drivers so I had to uninstall all of them and leave just FFXI.

And yeah I had to change it to 800x600 to make it work. Boo for huge ass desktop and crap. :/

yea, i agree but it's the only solution(even though very odd) that i found to work

Have you got both of these? Perhaps they might help?
