/befriend Cross Server

I know there's a way, or atleast I thought there was, to /befriend someone from another server.

If there is, what do you type?

I've tried everything I could think of from:

/befriend "Server" Name
/befriend Name "Server"
/befriend "Name" Server
/befriend Server "Name"
/befriendserver Name

Which all resulted in errors except the last one.

I believe you do it in the POL client using their POL handle.

Gotta search for their character on whatever server in POL, add them to friends list.

Thanks all. I thought there was just something you typed in game, but I knew there was a way to do it.

And going through PoL > making a mule for 2 minutes to log in and befriend them and wasting 1$. Yes, I care about 1$. lol

I'm guessing it's under the Friendlist thing somewhere on PoL(duh). I'll have to check it out later when I log. Does it matter if the person is online at the time if you're doing it through PoL?

Navigator > Friend Search > Click the right arrow thing (by "index search") > Set character & world > Click the search button > Click on the result > Friend Registration

But yeah, it's available through POL, and no it doesnt matter if theyre on or not. However, you have to know that persons POL handle, not the ingame character. My Handle and ingame characters names are different, if you wanted to add me, youd have to know my handle. Unless ofcourse they fixed this feature from when it was first released.

You can add a friend from a different character with only their Character name, but only if they are not anon.

If you want to find out the parameters a command accepts, type /? /commandnamehere

Which in your case: /? /befriend

It will display all information about that command. If I remember correctly, hitting /? alone with display all commands usable in FFXI.
