    Ninja Gear Advice

Hey, I had posted this a while back, but it got lost when bg went down, and I didn't get to see most responses.
Looking for some Ninja gear advice for TP and Jin. Right now my equipment is decent I guess, but I'm trying to figure out the best places for improvement.
In terms of Merits the only ones I have atm are Full Critical Hits and 4 of 8 Katana merits.

TP Build: This is my standard exp/merit/linkshell non-kiting equipment.

    Weapons: Main: Senjuinrikio Sub: Fudo
(I also have Unji and Unsho, but I haven't yet parsed them to see if they are better. Eventually I'd like Perdu Blade/Unji as another LS Ninja has this and he parses amazing numbers).
    Ranged: Ungur Boomerang
Head: Walahra Turban (I have Optical Hat that I am currently subbing for WS).
Neck: Evasion Torque (I have Peacock Charm, but I don't usually use it).
    Ear: Suppanomimi / Brutal Earring
Body: Ninja Chainmail (I have Haubergeon and a Scorpion Harness +1. Working on Kirin's Osode, Koga Chainmail).
Hands: Dusk Gloves (I have Rasetsu Tekko if I find I need extra evasion).
Rings: Rajas Ring / Sniper's Ring
Back: Boxer's Mantle (I have Forager's Mantle and I'd love a Cerberus Mantle but I can`t afford it atm).
    Waist: Swift Belt
    Legs: Byakko's Haidate
    Feet: Fuma Sune-Ate

    Blade: Jin Equipment

    Weapons: Main: Senjuinrikio Sub: Fudo
Ranged: Ungur Boomerang (Working on Fire Bomblet)
    Head: Optical Hat
Neck: Peacock Charm (Working on Breeze Gorget)
Ear: Triumph Earring / Brutal Earring
    Body: Haubergeon
    Hands: Dusk Gloves
Rings: Rajas Ring / Flame Ring
    Back: Forager's Mantle
    Waist: Warwolf Belt
    Legs: Byakko's Haidate
    Feet: Rutter Sabatons

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments

    Re: Ninja Gear Advice

Not a NIN but for merits:

    TP
Ranged: Ungur Boomerang Change to Bomb Core of Fire Bomblet
    Neck: Evasion Torque to Chram
    Back: Boxers to Foragers

Essentially, stop using evasion/def gear in merits. Mobs die in like 30 seconds, do more damage.

WS: change dusk gloves to something else. O.Kote or +str gloves?

I take that your WS build is geared for the use of sushi, its a little light on the accuracy. Also, don't worry about Osode or Koga chainmail, Haubergeon/chainmail trumps them both. Also, especially if you're using sushi, invest in a bomb core.

WS in Attack Kotes or AF1+1 hands instead of Dusk.

    Re: Ninja Gear Advice

For TP: You have the right idea, but like the other poster said, get rid of the Ungur Boomerang and the Boxer's mantle. Go for more DD with items like Bomb Core / Bomblet and Foragers.

For WS: I'd say that you're pretty good here but I personally use a Potent Belt and NIN Tekko +1. You'd probably be better off with OKote/BKote/Tekko+1/Alky (If you don't mind the DEX loss).

Overall you're pretty good gear wise, just tweak a couple of the things mentioned in this thread and you should be set.

Anyone who TP's endgame in evasion gear, especially that much of it, has either missed the boat entirely or is a bought character. Sure, I wear my SH +1 in a merit party from time to time as well, especially if I eat a Vorpal Blade after just casting Ni etc, but that much evasion in a merit build is just stupid.

Instead of starting a new thread:

Opinions on Bandomusha versus AF+1 for Jin? I'd go out and test myself, but I don't have AF+1 yet, and I'd rather invest the coins/items in a different upgrade if the Bandos are just fine.

NIN Tekko +1 Are arguably the best piece of +1 to get. I personally TP in B Kote and WS in NIN Tekko.

At one point we had a trial member apply. This guy was nin too.

He got kicked out within a week or so. Basically he had full god set, didn't know his way around sky and claimed the items were just given to him one night when he was hanging out in sky. This of course got all the sackholders talking... we were in sea at the time just farming organs. He'd have the most ridiculous setups at times too when he'd come along to events. Eva build etc. Sending me PMs asking for tips on gear. I remember him coming down to Charybdis once with a pair of Rai Kunimitsu... kinda looked odd having those on fulltime.

Where the f*ck did I say I use SH in merit party? And I've probably been playing longer then you... I've always been a whm, and have been lvl nin on and off for 4 years.

I like an extra couple hours of running at +25% more than I like bumping my average blade jin damage up a few points, but to each his own! :b

    Re: Ninja Gear Advice

I'm next up for Shura Head, and some god tanking gear (Genbu head, sieryu kote). I have the coins to get the AF+1 Gloves, but as of yet I haven't won any lots on the materials.

I almost always end up being WHM for events, so I have mostly mage gear from sky (noble's, abjur) and limbus/salvage. I'm trying to get my Ninja performing a little better so I can take it to more events.

I get the odd 1200-1400 Blade Jin but it's pretty rare. I average 500-700ish usually but 250ish isn't that uncommon on some enemies.

I also have the O.Kote but I I hardly use it since I got the dusk gloves.

I didn't think I was that heavy on the evasion build actually... just the Neck/Ranged/Back. Also I usually use Sushi as without it my ACC really seems to suck. Eventually when I merit enough that Katana is fully capped I figured I could try meat instead.

You always could use Dusk for TP, and Okote for WS.

don't know, probably because you have A FUCKING PEACOCK CHARM and you elect to use an evasion torque. you have a lot of excellent gear, yet your excuse for not using it is because you don't know how good it works... and yet you still dump millions on said gear so it can sit around and collect dust. at this point, you're either a bought account or incredibly stupid. not to mention the fudo over unji and unsho... just sitting around... lol.

How does me having a charm have anything to do with someone saying I said I used a SH+1 for TP/Merit when I don't and never said I do. You seem to associate having nice items with dumping millions of gil into them... instead of a hell of a lot of hard work...

Just to clear things up with you here, yes I have some very nice gear, did I spend gil on it? Yeah I did for a few things, for most things though I either crafted or camped etc.

The Peacock Charm... I went 1/1 on my first try at that BC... never got another one... and Yet I am something like 2/60ish on VE (1 non R/EX and one R/EX hairpin, and I've also never had LL drop the boots before). Unji and Unsho aren't exactly expensive anymore. Hauby... yeah I bought that a while back... the SH+1 that was a gift from a Bonecrafter friend and thats all I can think of thats expensive that I own atm.

Maybe you missed the part where I said I don't merit much and therefore haven't spent the kind of time many other people have which is why I was asking for advice in the first place. If you are pissed of because I have a few million to spend when I have 2 75 jobs (neither of which I merit), 95 clothcraft, and access to 100 Bonecraft, 100 woodworking, 100 cooking and 100 alchemy then maybe you shouldn't merit so much and work on earning some gil.

Back to your Peacock charm comment... I don't use it because they way things stand now are:

    1) I use sushi (sole usually)
    2) With said sushi and my current setup I am 90-95%ish acc usually.
    3) Equiping Charm doesn't seem to make much difference, so hey why not take a little extra evasion.

When I fight birds or other stuff I can't eat food for then yes, I use the charm... but overall it seems to not make much of difference for me when using sushi.

Also considering unless your eating Meat and have Minuets Bkotes are gonna beat Nin Tekko+1, the Boots are probably your best bet unless you never use Ninja for running around, just a sometimes instance job.
