Travel Companion/GPS/PDA Help

So i'm looking to get my father a gift and he has been looking to buy something like this http://www.buy.com/prod/hp-ipaq-rx59...203976997.html it's a HP RX5915 Travel Companion w/ GPS. One of his co-workers bought the same thing so i'm guessing that's why he has been leaning towards that model.

I was wondering if anyone has something similiar to this or knows of something better that does the same thing as that. He definitely wants the GPS on it. Looking to spend ~$400 or under. Any help is appreciated since I don't know much about these.

but before buying, it is better to try all the function and see how the interface, and how convinience is it. My cousin did bought a 700USD GPS ( i think it is garmin too), and I have tried to played with it. But I found that the interface, and the way it let you enter address to obtain driving direction, it is far less convinience than other Garmin model that in 300~400USD pricing model.
