    Anyone else feeling like quitting?

I mean i like pankration, it gives you something to do while you are seeking or waiting around for events and such... but with it being so insanely popular its almost impossible to get a match on my server. Even with a trade macro and wired reflexes you probably wont get in, and even if you do...oops...puddle.

I really hope SE takes the cap off the waiting list, i dont mind if i have to wait like 4 hours till my creature fights just let me enter so i can do something else other than try and submit an application.

I rarely have trouble getting a match after 1 or 2 fights. Learn 2 pokeman better.

Easy once you get the hang of it... I just went 7/7 on sign-ups when they opened, but pulled my guy out of the first 6 since the competiton was too high/low. Hard to find same level battles on Fairy at the momeny

Despite usually being effective, I'm having more trouble now than ever. The different between having 90 people in the zone during a Besieged and 180+ is so amazing... Oh god.

The first few days the item macro worked great. Now at any popular time it's an epic struggle.

I just don't like the slow progress. I don't mind losing alot or the crap xp you get from it, it's just the fact that getting 5xp/hr is super ultra gay. I don't think SE will add more arenas so you just got to tough it out.

One thing I do hope they add is making your pet suck if you're not up there. Even if you don't give commands. Having people sign up and leave town is pretty gay and clogs a ton of spots.

I have beaten 3 mobs 5 levels above me because they were afk and I told my guy a few commands. My pet is pretty strong atm but it really can make a big difference. I do think it should be even more though if you just afk fights, cause that's lame.

Re: Anyone else feeling like quitting?

I'm using a G15 keyboard, best keyboard for macro spamming =) with this I've been able to get matches within a few minutes between each battle. I'm finally hitting mid teen levels and already having a difficult time finding decent matches =\ so far it's been 5-25 xp a fight now... kinda dragging on. Besides that there is still the fact that your your pets job traits still level after every battle.

honestly the only time I have a problem getting into a cage is when I try Diablo. during NA primetime I don't even need to try, it's a bit harder once the JP log on and suddenly there's like 30 people spamming the same NPC.

Once you get the hang of signin up, it becomes very easy. Just practise and you'll eventually out enter most people.

The problem for me is that even though I can pretty much get in first time every time, its still too friggen slow. If it doesn't become a large amount less popular, they are going to have to add more cages

given the traffic on midgard, there probably shoulda been about 12 1v1 cages and 3 king of the hill cages... instead you have to have a macro and know how to time the trade to get the match. and even then you have to hope a) you don't lag b) the 50 ppl around you have slower connections and computers and c) that the other person who gets signed up is even worth fighting. It's pretty much a crapshoot anymore

I wonder if they could speed up the battles... not the wait times, but the battle speed itself. e.g all animations, attack delays, etc. would be cut in half, so it'd be like you're watching a video on fast forward. In addition, they could put two sets of mobs in the same cage at the same time, and just adjust AoEs so they only affect their respective opponents.

Re: Anyone else feeling like quitting?

But if they speed up the battle, one can't effectivly give commands.

Person with crappy computer and connection here, it basically makes no sense even trying to get a slot. Hopefully the interest wanes soon or SE comes up with a relief.

I still don't understand why they gave Chocobo Circuit, which only few people partake in, such a long wait time (most people only race on the day the maintenance was, on all days after that I'm alone against the NPCs) and Pankration, which everybody was going nuts over beforehand (and still missing the notice about the Ice Crystals), no wait time at all.

I managed to get into three battles and that's only because everybody was still dazzed from the maintenance and trying to figure out what they where supposed to do.

Re: Anyone else feeling like quitting?

I am semi quitting my pokermom. I removed all the good abilities and stuck PLD abilities/traits/white magic on my mob, removed it's lvl40 dread spikes, and am just going to muck around with it.

Pit is nice in theory, horrible excecution, when i'm finally completely bored with it I'm most likely gonna take my monster to storage in bastok and not return unless they do some serious fixing

Re: Anyone else feeling like quitting?

There's one thing I got to ask to make sure I ain't wasting my time.

Are the applications on a per-cage basis, or is it global? Basically, I find myself using the warp-taru to go about all the cages thinking they're individual apps and see'ing if there's a spot open, but for some reason I feel that isn't the case when 3/4 of them report full.

The waits are still annoying though, got two 86min waits in a row, just decided to log, cause god forbid having to actually keep track of that time manually where it can actually vary is a nuisance.

On another note : Warp Taru needs a damn Warp-To-Whitegate option.

Re: Anyone else feeling like quitting?

I doubt SE would be able to add extra cages since that would require editing the map, which is a huge file to go through a regular update. Could SE make two instances of the Colosseum zone and let people choose which one they want to enter at the gate? Or would that be too much work, like trying to instance the Dynamis zones.

Re: Anyone else feeling like quitting?

The difficulty of getting just getting entered is discouraging me more and more. I've had a trade macro since the first day and follow all the other tips I've seen, yet I've only been able to have two battles in all this time and one of those was because a party member reserved a slot for me.

There are possibilities SE could try to incorporate, although I'm sure some would upset people, like having a cool down time for players after their monster has fought where they can't enter again for a while to give other players a chance to get in. Nothing horribly long, but like maybe an hour or something. It would also be nice if the wait time between fights was sped up. It's not like that wait time is there for anything other than trying to add drama or realism. Another idea being to set aside one of the rooms for party vs battles only.

Just anything at this point would probably be better than having to spend over an hour+ trade spamming an NPC and being told to wait until the crowds die down.

    You're obviously doing something wrong.
