A Puppetmaster said "Usukane Hizayoroi sucks for NIN, MNK, SAM and it's only real use is for Pup... I thought it was good for Sam after the update and BB MNKs.. I guess it goes to the Byakko Hadaite vs Usukane Hizayoroi thing and the fact that Pup cant wear Hadaite. I wonder how people feel about this since a lot of people have both items now.

Yea.. I really wish he would stfu.. He is the most annoying person in the ls I mean even the ls leader has him blacklisted...They say Pup is useful in salvage and he does come every run so they keep him around. I told him "you're pup you should be happy to be in any ls".

I get his mindset that it's a relative thing. I honestly don't see/get why anyone would wear them over haidate except for the full set, especially with the way haste is calculated. 15 ATK when you're getting double minuets and attack food on SAM/WAR is just meh compared to the extra haste, and I'd rather have the extra acc and haste on monk and nin.

Accuracy is mostly irrelevant for SAM (in regards to the 10 DEX on Byakko's Haidate), so it's mostly a question of 15 att vs. 2% haste.

And uh, ya, you're going to be eating att food and will most likely have a brd, so Byakko's Haidate seems to be the winning candidate~ (unless you have full set obviously). I'm going to be honest, though; I tend to wear Usukane Hizayoroi so I can feel like a badass

On MNK and NIN, Byakko's stands on top as well (Usukane for WS obviously).

They might not beat Byakko's for TP, but they sure do blow Shura Haidate out of the water for weapon skills on SAM. Considering the vast majority of a SAMs damage output comes from weapon skills, I think that alone is reason enough for SAM deserve it over a PUP (or at the very least, deserving equally as much).

But assuming a meat build on NIN, wouldn't Byakko's be better for WS? 7.5 Acc and DEX modifier for Jin and all that (unless you're hitting acc cap)?

For WS, Haidate always win for NIN (pretty much regardless of food/buffs, there's a tiny bit of wiggle room but not really enough to justify the inv-1 for Hizayaroi imo), and probably for MNK as well sheerly due to the extra Acc on Asuran.

Wouldn't mind a pair of Hizayaroi for when my SAM hits 75 though.

I was always under the impression that 5 str 10 attack would be better than 10 dex against mobs when you have 90%+ acc? Isn't the benefit from 1 STR outweigh 1 DEX in these scenarios because of how STR is calculated in WS over CRIT bonus? I know we're talking about 0.5 STR 1 attack compared to 1 DEX here but it really depends on how much STR, DEX & attack value is worth and it's really hard to test because it's so situational other than 30% STR 30% DEX mod we know about. However at nighttime you generally WS in Koga Tekko over Nin Tekko +1 in merit parties right?

I tend to use Haidate, except during 100fists. When I complete the set I will only use Hizayoroi tho.
