    Haste Belt Confirmation Please

Ok so I've heard conflicting responses about this item (some say its spell haste, some say gear, some say neither), and according to Wiki it states :

    * This Haste effect does stack with both Haste and March, and does not count toward the 25% Gear-Haste cap.
    * The effect is 10% Haste.
    * The effect duration is 3 minutes.
    * The belt must remain equipped for the effect to remain active.

BG Wiki doesn't have info up for it yet. I would like to know if the above information is actually correct, because if it is then this belt is a lot more powerful. I need to know if it's better than swift belt for drk/sam zerging. Thanks again for the help.

    Re: Haste Belt Confirmation Please

The above is correct but the belt isn't very popular for this reason:

If you are zerging something with 2HR abilities, you are often getting Haste (15%) and 2x SV March (40%) spells. The magic haste cap is ~43.3%. Therefore, adding Haste Belt would add 0 haste to your setup.

However, if you're doing a zerg without SV March, then it is still good. You'd only get 20% from marches, 15% from spell giving you a total of 35%. The additional 10% would cap out at 43% giving which means the belt is giving you a total of 8% haste.

Ohhhh I understand now. It stacks with them but it still counts towards the Haste cap from spells (43.3%) so essentially if you are getting Haste + Soul Voice Marches then its useless. Thanks very much for answering my question so quickly^^

    Re: Haste Belt Confirmation Please

Swift Belt / Velocious Belt / Speed Belt if you're not at the 25% Gear Cap haste (depends on your job & gear etc) would be your best option. If you are at the cap, for HP your best options are the RSE Belts or Powerful Rope I believe.

Actually thinking about it now you can't hit the haste cap without waist slot I don't think? (Assuming you're a DRK)

    Rune Chopper 9%
    Walahra Turban 5%
    Dusk Gloves +1 4%
    Homam Cosciales 3%
    Homam Gambieras 3%

So 24% Haste with the best gear you can have in other slots, so you need the haste from belt to hit the cap (though if you actually are using all the above gear you may want to go with +HP since 1% haste - or maybe none if you're already at the cap from songs + haste + desperate blows + hasso (is this possible?) - would probably be better)

EDIT : as an addendum so the Wiki / BG Wiki aren't misleading, the notes should have the following sentence added (or something similar) : "The Haste from this belt is subject to the 43.3% Haste Cap from Spells / Songs". Because as it currently reads it makes me think that it would be separate haste that wouldn't count towards the spell cap, just a thought.

This is a bit of a nitpick, but you can add Blitz Ring to that and reach 25%--I think someone ran the numbers in a K club thread a while back and found that 1% haste actually equates to 2-3 hits or so? It wouldn't be nearly so significant for a 2 handed setup, but I just thought I'd point that out.

I would think the HP from BBQ /bloodbead or an accuracy ring would achieve more results than a 1%, however I could be wrong.

    Re: Haste Belt Confirmation Please

BQ Ring and Blitz Ring is ideal imo. The 5 accuracy (or 7 if Snipers +1 / Toreador's) is unnecessary for any legitimate "zerg" where Feint is on and you're buffed to high hell (Mad x2 / March x2). You can compromise in other situations; I solo Uninvited Guests once a week with my Octave setup and sometimes drop some HP gear for accuracy, but for the most part I would prioritize Haste above HP depending on the slot. Swift / Speed over Powerful Rope is a no brainer, but Blitz vs. Bloodbead is more situational. BQ Ring should be a staple for any zerg setup imo.

On a sidenote, I wish the latent on Flagellant's Rope was triggered by anything other than Paralyze; would be plausible perhaps if the paralyze effect on Paralyze Potions wasn't so strong.
