T3 - Escort Professor Chanoix

Been working on getting Captain lately and this is one of the final 6 assualts I need, only got to try it once I wasn't prty lead but was told the plan was - whms curebomb npc while the melee sacrificed them, needless to say it failed so curious if theres any good advice out there before I try again? I've heard good things about fighting your way through with a brd sleeping the mobs and then melee following behide killing shit other than that is the curebomb strat.

Any information would be appreciated

Pet jobs work really well in this assault, just have 2-3 SMNs or BSTs run ahead of him sneaked, undead will aggro pets so you have a chance to kite them around.
When I cleared we had BST (me) 2xSMN WHM RDM and a random melee (can't remember his job), went 1/1.

Yeah, you might have to "death kite" a few mobs this way.

I can't remember if the few mobs we tried to fight were worth the effort or not, but I'm pretty sure you can MNKburn this assault easily

I did this one with SMNx3 BLM SAM, the SMN would run around with carby kiting any mobs they come across (with sneak up obviously). Problem we ran into was obviously -ga on carby hitting summoner into yellow HP or lower meaning everything and their mothers would aggro the smn. With no possible way of reraising without getting bloodaggro that SMN was done for the rest of the assault. The next problem was that the stupid prof. decides to go to the one spot that hasn't been cleared by a SMN beforehand making him get aggro with only a duoboxed BLM and a SAM near him. Safe to say that didn't help much either. I've done it twice so far with not luck yet, instead I'm focussing on finishing the other areas first (namely the FL ones).

RDM/NIN RDM BRD BLU PLD WHM

Sleep/bind/grav everything. PLD tries to tank some and help out sleepers. WHM keepps NPC and members near full hp. Kiting mobs with movement speed can work too, but they can get some nasty spells off which can cause you to die. For us the BRD died near the end simply because he got overwhelmed, but we still managed with two RDMs binding and the BLU sleeping.

We did 2RDM NIN 2MNK and one BLM iirc, squeletons were killled along the way and ghosts sleept, only thing to take care is when ghost wake up so you need te re-sleep them, not many problems doing it that way.

We did SMN PLD BRD BRD (PLD has w.legs and I think went /NIN). SMN tried to kite everything out of the way first, and PLD BRD BRD followed the NPC, sleeping anything the SMN missed that aggro'd, which the PLD would then flash.

One ghost we had to sleep many times built up obscene lullaby "resistance"; eventually, he'd sleep, but it would wear literally 1 second later. So be careful with that.

Did this a couple of days ago, BRD PLD WAR RDM/NIN x2. Myself and the other rdm/nin just ran around like chickens with our heads cut-off and agro'd as much shit as possible. Eventually we both died but we had trained most of the monsters back to the start. It's a pain in the ass b/c u can't control the npc. We won easily and didnt sacrifice too much xp.

Have at least one person (best is pld/nin) for it dedicated to training. Run ahead and cover as much ground as you can, then die near entrance. Rest of the group should consist of 1 sleeper, 1 healer and someone who can kill add. If everything was trained correctly, there shouldnt be a lot of monster left to fight, so just get ride of them.

2 brd sleeping everything also works (other people can help sleeping, or pick one target and kill it)

tried the training mobs method too but the mobs seems to lose hate on the way

i did it with rdm, blm, blm. bind/sleep/grav whatever aggroes and hope they dont overwhelm us. worked on first try.

So basically screw curebomb, sleeping 4tw? Seems like a idea to try since its successful for most. I was gonna try a setup of say - whm brd mnk mnk drg(love halbred) and myself on drk(leech). Basically whm follows npc curing and brd follows along sleeping while DDs follow behide killing shit. I know a few friends who tried the pet method and stated it was still quite random all and all seems very luck based.

we did RDM RDM PLD and curebombed/slept what we could. not really sure what our plan was but somehow, after we had all died and only one RDM had reraise up, chanoix reached the end and the RDM got up and took us out. it was pretty damn funny <_<

RDM : Cures NPC, Sleeps Ghosts, Gravs/Binds Skeletons.

WHM : Cures NPC and other people, subbing DRK would be nice to stun an incoming -ga3.

COR : COR/WHM, can be replaced with a bard. Sleep non-ghost (unless it's one casting -ga3). Sleep shot skeletons when possible.

--- Everything in this zone deaggros fast, not as rapid as puks in the Double Agent Assault, but decently fast---

Strategy is go and follow the NPC around, cure him. If a ghost aggros, sleep it with sleep1 or 2, whatever's up - it'll lose aggro on you anyway so who cares. Keep professor in white HP so he doesn't retardedly aggro anything. If he does aggro stuff, take it off him with grav or bind, just dont let them whack away at him.


I tried this as pet burn multiple times and fucking failed, pets are rubbish. Anytime I slept something that came and aggro'd us (not professor), stupid carby woke and MPK'd us. BST would probably be better here as BST pets are useless creatures that don't attempt to save their master.

I updated bg wiki a few days ago with this strat.

I did this with 2x BRD and 2x PLD/WHM, lol.

Both PLDs had w.legs, we curebombed NPC and the BRDs while they slept things, and one PLD would break off and kite stray mobs if needed while the other PLD stayed with the NPC. The WHM sub was for reraise.

We um.. walked in.. and the crazy fucker ran off.. so we struggled to catch up to him, and he completed the assault before we even knew wtf was going on.

Sorry for Double Post but joined a shout group for this assualt - rdm whm brd drk war nin, everyone died but we beat it in the end.

Pretty much sleep and run tactic although the mobs didn't really despawn in the end and we dragged them the full way of the map however we kept the mobs completely off the npc by means of voke, Stun or any other form of grabbing attention.

45/50 Only T10s left Til Captain, Thanks everyone for the advice

Nope, they don't depop Assault mobs are stuck in pre cop mode, and oh how I wish the rest of the game would return like that.
