On our last run here (Timed out on the boss), we started killing the chariot with a couple gears still up. After that, we started killing the reamining gears (a single and a triple). BEFORE the last Archaic gears was defeated, I was able to open the door to the teleporter. Every resource I read says you need to clear the entire main room to open the door. Do you only need to kill the chariot? I'm 100% certain the last mob was not dead before I opened the door.

Most people always kill the chariot first, so no, you're seeing things.

The floor was cleared when you opened the door. I've tried every combination just to see if we can save time.

Uh, to clarify- I opened the door, then several seconds later I got that "You are too far away form the battle to recieve experience" message. Something's up here. I suppose it could be lag, but it sure wasnt laggy to me at the time.

Those messages are always many seconds behind the actual mob death when you are far away.
