How Carniverous Maws work (almost positive)

Hey all. After running all the way from Jeuno to Sanyd, I am tired as hell, but I think I figured out how maws work. I didn't see this posted anywhere else.

I'm pretty sure they're like runic portals. Originally, you can only use the Maw you were spit out from to go back to the past. After traversing all the way to East Ronfaure [S] and using that Maw, I recieved an interesting message.

"A portal has opened within the depths of the Maw."

I couldn't use it before this in present time. So, I warped back to current time, and sure enough, now I can warp from Ronf. I haven't checked if I can warp back from my oroginal spot in Saur. Chmp. but I'm almost certain now I can use both. So we can go to each Maw and unlock it for quicker access. Only catch is you need to activate it in the past to use it in the future, which makes sense I guess. Looks like we've got a lot of walking ahead of us.
