    Digital Camera Advice

    Heya-

I've been kinda wondering this for a bit but wasn't sure who to talk to, and generally I see some pretty productive discussions here, so I figure I'll toss it to y'all. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm leaving for a cruise on Thursday, and it kinda occurred to me I don't have a camera... Always wanted one, but never really thought to invest in one, so trying to maybe pick one up before I leave. I don't wanna just hit up Best Buy though, without having any idea of how they work... I really know nothing about digital cameras, so kinda looking for some helpful info here as far as picking one up that I won't regret after the fact. I know megapixel count is important, as is disc size... but i've no clue what a decent number is for either. Can anyone perhaps let me know what megapixel count I should be aiming for, and/or what disc sizes / which ones have the best options of removable / cheap storage? Price range is $150-200, so really can't afford a really great one, but don't want one that's gonna take 24 four pixel photos before it runs out and forces me to toss my investment overboard.

    Thanks ahead of time-

I'm a Nikon bitch, and assuming that your willing too spend 150 too 200 dollars your looking for a Point and Shoot.

I'm going too suggest the Nikon Coolpix L12

My roommate's girlfriend totes it around, very convenient and lightweight so it wont be a hassle too carry it around with you on the boat.
With 7.1 Mega pixels you shouldn't have any complaints for decent photographs. As for memory space, it supports SD, and up too 4gbs.

The camera itself is 129.00 out of our store. So it should be around the same price.

Canon powershot a630. It's the best one around that price range, but was discontinued recently :\. Fry's had it again, but were selling it for hella expensive. Office Depot had it for 220 w/printer, but was saving it for black friday. So look around. I did my research, and made a thread here too. Ended up with some $400 sony thing tho :\
