    Parser Results: Put em here!

*Purpose of this is to provide info on merits performance to date. You have your parsers, feel free to post and explain it."
K, enough naggin about who's better, of that's gimped, or whatever. Talk is cheap. Data is not. So I brought some LS melee members and merited.

Alittle bit about the melees: Sam/nin - Pawis, Mnk/nin Asamibabe (me), Sam/nin Karlth, Rng/nin Fiftycent, Cor/nin Jen

Pawis - Sam: pretty sexy sam. hagun, Ace Helm, hq hauby, all sky gear, fully merited sam, etc. etc. Hume
Karlth - Sam: pretty sexy sam, hagun, no ace helm, but has justice torque, fully merited . Elv
Fift: no idea who this guy is, random rng, used osode, crimson gloves from what I could tell (I didn't check his gear)
Asamibabe - Me Mnk: All sky gear, destroyers, pcharm, acc build, fully merited, black belt
Our cor did rng and war roll.

    Target Mob: Greater Colibri
We were planning to fight mamools, but a couple of our pt mates decided to jump on down to bird camp. Thus why our sams came /nin. They woulda got their asses handed to them had we fought mamools and them being /war.

    http://www.nelsonwebsolutions.com/up...ewithpawis.png

As you can tell, our acc was pretty damn good. Both sams did /nin because we pretty much had no tank. I pretty much tanked the start of the fight until someone else WSed the mob. Had the sams came /war, they woulda outparsed me, the mnk. Had they ate food (kabobs and dumplings mostly, with a few subs), they woulda parsed equal to me. I ate food.

Summary: HQ Sams are pretty much equal to HQ Mnks. Sams are pretty much balanced in merits.

    Only if mnks could /war...

*post your parser folks. this one sample is what it is - one sample*

    My setup:
For me, I had the typical mnk acc build.
    tp build:
    O-hat
    Destroyer
    pcharm
    brutal
    merman
    tor ring
    snipers
    byakko
    black belt
    foragers
    dune
    shura togi
    t-sting
    o-kotes

    WS build:
pretty much the same except for:
    life belt
    shura haidate
    rseII boots

    Merits: (the ones that matter)
    Full h2h
    Full str
    Full crits
    5/5 counter
    5/5 kick rate

*Special thanks to Pawis for parsing this*

Yea, I'd like to go back /war, get rid of the rng, and get a brd...

I started off the night in this pt not realizing I had an empress band on instead of rajas(I thought they ninja nerfed Store TP for a while... till I realized I fail ; ; )

For the first half of the pt my ws gear was a mix of acc/str then later switched to more str(basically switched out hauby+1, u.ring, and aces for osode, flame ring, and wyvern helm) and definately saw an increase in ws dmg and acc was high enough I didn't miss too many ws. But with this my avg ws dmg was much lower than the other sam, who was elvaan and was using a str build from the get go. You can see his avg ws was much higher because of that.

Did ya'll do many incidental SC's?

I was telling a Sam friend of mine that they intended for Sams to SC more, and this was a sign of that. He says "it isn't 2004 anymore."

    To which, priceless timing...

'Yeah, but didn't you hear, Rangers rock, Ridillls and BB's are awesome, HNM's are hard to hurt with melee, and SE wants us to Skillchain more."

What weapons were the SAMs using? It's a little strange that the not-as-sexy SAM (Karlth) did better WS damage than the slightly sexier SAM (Pawis). I don't see how many WSs they each did, so it could be within random margins.

    Thanks for posting.

Did the Ranger make much use of Velocity Shot and distance himself to feel its effects?

... are we looking at the same parse...?

edit: nm, window wasn't maximized, parser was cut off before ws averages etc, thought we were talking about total dmg.

Re: Parser Results: Put em here!

We were firing off mostly Yuki and Gekko. Partly because I only have a Snow Gorget, and to either close or open for Asuran Fists... but we through out some Kasha every now and then.

I think Karlth was 78+55 str and I was 71+54(I'm only 3/5 str merits T.T) as he used str+1 bow and I used lbow+1. He TPed in Shura body tho, and I think the added dex from hauby and lbow(+9) attributed to my slightly higher critical hit and accuracy rate(not sure what the difference in dex is based off race but I think hume has more)

Like I said my WS numbers are actually pretty inaccurate blur of the first half I didnt know my empress band was still on, and had an acc/str build, and later switched to str build for ws along with equiping rajas. STR seemed to make a big difference.

Go back to /WAR and keep your Seigan on for ~80% of the time. SAM don't pull pretty shit hate like before so it's relatively safe to /WAR and pump out 10~20% more damage.

I really hope that rng was ... not reflective of other rngs. I'm sure hq rngs would pwn (seeing that it's colibri camp to).

But yeah, sams before couldn't match my dmg. I never merited with any sams on carbuncle pre update that came anywhere near 3% my dmg. Cubby, probably one of the best sams on Carbuncle back in the day, didn't get close to what Pawis did. I love Pawis, but Cubby to date, is the most skilled sam I've known on our server. Though I can't compare him to sams these days, because ace helm and salvage gear didn't exist when he was playing. The point though, Sams are stronger than what they were a couple months ago. Strong to date as they are equals if not minuetly better than BB mnks and ridill wars (at a cost of minor mp spongy /war.) Someone else, put up your parser results, with hq members (preferrably from folks from you own ls who are excellent, gear and skill wise, at what they do.)

There's a lot of data on that parser. Examine it folks for what it's worth. Feel free Pawis to list your merits, tp and ws gear if you want.

that parse would be very different had those sam's not gimped themselves by /nin.

Lol, I never denied that. I even stated they woulda outparsed me had they /war. Man people, this post ain't about my job is better than your job. This data is what it is.

Lor, you're a pretty damn sexy drk. We should merit. I've merited with Batang and Morraccoo in the past. Both challenges exciting and fun (and within 1% of dmg of each other). Nothing more fun than a good challenge, whether that be a HNM or merit challenge.

Re: Parser Results: Put em here!

RNG party I was in just now, yea no way that RNG was any good (The RNGs in my pt one was kclub the other used axe and knife combo) were dishing out 2000+? slug shot using a gun (kclub) and the other 1800+ slug shots using obow. (At close range pretty much)

    RNG/RNG/MNK/RDM/COR/BRD

I don't got a parse since I'm playing COR and was pulling, pretty much 2 slugs and the both of em got the colibris down to 0 HP in an instant, we actually didn't have enough mobs on the platform and actually had to pull from other platforms to continue chaining =/

Buffs were chaos/hunters/minuet/minuet (March and we were killing waaaaay too fast =/)

Our mnk is also pretty good gear wise, he's really only missing a few pieces and can hold his own against ridill wars and 2h people pre-update. He couldn't even get anywhere close to the two of em, and really just assisted on links and what not lol. So yea... a well geared RNG at colibri camp pretty much destroys them.

Like other people said, sam/nin is lolworthy especially on birds, but at least this proves that the sky isn't falling etc.
