Nyzul tougher on the 2nd runthrough?

Had a ...mishap, and wasn't able to warp out in time for floor 100 boss kill, so had disc cleared. We had planned to clear it just after a few hats of course. Now going up the second time it feels rougher from the start. I don't remember seeing mobs like Wamouras on floor 1-5 ish the first time around, and in general we seem to be having a rougher time than I'd expect. Even the 1 person who insisted it was the same is thinking differently after our 2nd weekend of runs. Anyone else seen this, or done runic key runs and find it not to be harder? As it is it's very frustrating to think that all the work put towards clearing floor 100 ends up being more of a punishment than a reward.

So far from what I've noticed on my second runthrough, the luck is just as good/bad as usual on mob/goal selection.

You're in a bit of a bad streak now, but hopefully it will balance out for you. Heck, our group's 60-80 climbs was butter compared to 40-60.

Not entirely on topic, but I thought hats didn't drop when the disc holder wasn't present for the kill, even when they change it to "100% drop"?

If the disc does not get cleared, there is a chance for a hat to drop.
If the disc gets cleared, one hat is guaranteed.

Well, that at least makes me feel a bit better about not getting out in time. Was an askar hat we got.

I don't think we've had a harder time 2nd time through, no white magic on a floor with soulflayers and no Ninjitsu on a floor with dahaks on first time kinda set that bar really fucking high though.

Can't you just ignore the secondary objectives? I know you want tokens, but if the objective is to clear then that takes priority.

lol "no white magic" doesnt mean you lose tokens if you use white magic, it means white magic is competely totally locked, unable to be used

And on the floors where the secondary objectives are "optional" aka dont destroy gears, sometimes killing them will give you time penalties.
