VSC Crate for Hot&Cold.

Are people able to steal this once you dig it up?
Reason I ask is that im now doing it in Buburima, always appears on the beach, which is plagued by RMT.
Everytime now the crate has popped, one of them run towards it.
Luckily I manage to get it in time, just kinda worried that they may be able to open it.

No, only you can open a crate that you dug up. It is one of the first things I tried when Hot & Cold came out. I tried with my second character, in the party and outside of the party- neither way I could open one I did not dig up.

The crate opening has been answered, but you should be aware that the contents of an opened crate drop into the party pool, if you are in a party at the time.

Ok so the questions answered, so maybe I can ask a semi related question here. The list of possible awards from Jungle/Desert areas shows automaton parts but I've never obtained any after at least a few dozen times. Is the list wrong, or is it just ridiculously rare?

The Automaton parts are rare but available. I got several, some even more than once (though, obviously, not in the same dig). Just keep at them.

Only have gotten an Attuner from desert once, no luck digging up the chest in jungle yet(My chocobo is Bore/Burrow), not having Treasure Hunter kinda hurt.

They also ninja changed Hot & Cold a while back changing what you can get. They completely nerfed Jugner, and thusly I stopped doing Hot & Cold at all.

What did they change? And by Jugner, do you mean Meri. Mountain and Passhow Marshland as well? Since they are from the same keyitem.

I think it was the final ToAU update (or maybe the one before it) when they ninja'd Hot & Cold. After that, I could no longer dig up dragon hearts or dragon talons anymore and reduced the amount of Dragon Meat, or outright removed it. (Can't remember for sure.) Still had wonderful dragon scales though. >_>

After a month and a half I gave up on Hot & Cold because vendor shit isn't worth the time. I used to do it daily before that.

May be that's why I have only been able to dig up useless worms(chocobo food) or silver shark(my mithra's food), I checked a few sites and all say that it has Dragon heart/meat/talon, but I couldn't find any. Thanks anyway, thought it was just my usual bad luck.

Back to Desert digging for the last 3 attachments from there...

By the way, since this post is on Hot and Cold, is Jungle harder than Desert? I can usually find the "Kweeeh!??!", but I just can't find the "KWEEEH!!" spot, do I have to really pinpoint it for the Jungle? Kinda want the 4 attachments there as well.

And I don't have Treasure Hunter(Bore and Burrow Chocobo).

The Jungle is eaiser than the desert, imho. You have more digs, but you have to be aware that the dig area is laid out different. The hot spot is usually farther away and smaller than in the desert, the TH zone on the other hand is larger. It takes some time to get into the rythm, but once you got it, you will get the Jungle much more consistently than the desert.

Dunes I was only able to do by trial and error, first two times failed due to fatigue of the choco, after that I just got lucky i guess.
Kinda hoping jungle has better items, in the bubs at the moment, and out of 7 wins all I have got is a worm for choco feeding and a green each time.

They are pretty rediculously rare, i'm at least 1/60 on any attachment drops, and it was a lousy tactical processor :/ Most of the time you'll get furniture or potions in the desert areas, with the ocassional bst loljug

what i find particularly interesting is that there are a lot of stints of players selling off 2 pots at once. this smells like price manipulation to me (possibly by RMT) but that's more intuition than evidence.

They nerfed the jungles hard, too. Had been you'd get 5-6 items in your chest (leaning towards 6), then it dropped to 4 total, the chocobucks coupon being one of them and blue peas/junk greens being a second.

I mostly get Eraser attachments in the jungle, but the prices have fallen through the floor and they're really slow to sell. Once I got a... drum something. I've probably gotten 4 erasers and 1 drum total, and I've done my H&C in the jungle pretty much since it became available (still doing it). So you can see the odds for attachments...
