I want to trio this, dumbasses in my salvage group got caught in ls event, looking at 5 people max for tonights run, if we win this I can squeeze my wife's lv70 BLU in and all will be happy.

Have PLD/WAR (can full koenig for DEF strat) + lv70BLU + 75 BLU / RDM / BLM

From what I'm looking at reading, is it possible for me to solo tank all mobs with defender + taco (or I have lv25 BLU sub for cocoon?) while 2 BLU or BLU + RDM pick off 1 by 1?

Is there another job combo that would work? Or is this just 100% out of possibility?

You do not lose xp, but you will need some elixir / meds to keep MP up.
Mobs are not too hard, but the Captain AoE move might be dangerous.

Grab yourself a Bard as well and it should be np.

Easy BC, I did it with no real tank, setup was something like rng/rng/smn/rdm/whm/blm, basically just kill everything, Ghessho* can tank fairly well on his own.

Did this trio as NIN/WAR RDM/BLM and WHM/BLM (who was 68). I went evasion route, but even then, they didn't hit hard enough to worry about in the first wave since I ate tacos. RDM was also given taco and was told to keep stoneskin/phalanx up at all times. Basically the RDM super tanked all mobs in first wave since his sleepga got resisted. If he could do it, I doubt you would have any problem with a PLD instead.

The biggest threat from the captain in the second wave is his WS which did 700 to us, but as long as we were on the ball, everything went fine. MP wasn't really a problem.

Just have everyone get refresh sanction, since I see the most damage will be coming from your BLU and RDM nuking.

I trio'd it with blmx3, so it can be done.

With your setup, I think mp would have been a problem because they hit kinda hard. They only have ~2k hp iirc tho, so a blu should be able to kill them quickly with a few damage spell. I think pld/blu/rdm would be doable mammet style (using the stair to kite aroundr.

The 2nd wave might be harder since it will be hard to set hate on pld (I'm not sure they always aggro the closest person). If pld manage to grab all 5, the blu could probably solo the weaker one by one, and everyone kill the NM together after since it hit like a truck.

NM gives up at 20%, but zerging NM while sleeping other wouldnt work well with no DD other than a lv70 blu. You can sleep the fomor too, but it's hard to land without ES

I can't remember how hard they hit, but when I did it, we trio'd with Nin, Nin, Rdm and didn't have much trouble with it. So I would think Pld, Blu, Rdm should be able to handle it as well.

Ended up doing MNK/NIN WAR/SAM BLU/NIN 70 and RDM/WHM

Was cake besides mpking myself with hasso full time on boss

I duoed most of the TAU missions with another close friend (who quit FFXI couple months ago >.<). In fact it's possible to duo all TAU mission up to the Raubahn fight.

RDM/BLM + RDM/WHM
RDM/BLM is the main tank, open with ES+Sleepga, wear -% damage and keep phalanx up all the time. RDM/WHM must erase defense down asap. Hold the last fomor to recover mp. When 2nd wave of fomor spawn, Start with ES + sleepga again and immediately chainspell nuke with thunder3 or fire3. Use medicine to recover mp for an easy win or simply let RDM/BLM kite the adds when they wake up and dot the main NM.

Don't have to kill the NM to win iirc, just need to take him down to certain%.

Another fun TAU mission to duo is Gessho fight, can be easily done with RDM/NINx2
