Shit is situational.
Depends on the WS :<
Mandau : Drop your dragon Harness
For everything else, there's mastercard.
well for anything besides relic I would say the DH +1 with its DEX and ATTK + would be better than the STR plus, however with DEX near cap the STR could easily out modify the DEX on the DH +1. Obviously depends on WS, just wanted to know if anyone has any opinions on the matter. (can state with specific ws)

... is what I would use, going by my current experience. Mind you, I don't have a Mandau yet.
People say DH is better for DE... I don't think I'll ever understand how that works.
Is the difference enough to care about if you already have Hecatomb but not a DH?
(My THF is 37, so I am just talking out of my ass here)
STR does very little with SA and THF WSes, so I would assume that the only thing you get from Hecatomb Harness is accuracy. Therefore, the DEX and AGI on the Dragon Harness would make it much stronger for WSes, assuming you don't need the accuracy to land the hits.Originally Posted by Charismatic
I'm not a THF, but that's my understanding of how it should work.
I have my macros setup so that :
on hard/evasive stuff (merits/HNMs)
default : heca
+SA : dragon
+TA : dragon + rogue armlets_+1
on easy/non-evasive stuff (EPs/salvage(not boss))
default : dragon
+SA : dragon
+TA : dragon + rogue armlets_+1
There is a cap on DEX?Originally Posted by Phantomphreak
The correct answer is "Skadi body"
(Except for relic of course)
I personally use Hecatomb for DE since my DE's end up all over the place but use DH for sharkbite. I guess its a matter of personal preference, some people like the accuracy for DE and some choose DH for DE.
i only use heca for everything
lazy to buy a DH and i dont think full dex really pimp out DE or SB
all more important is mog space +1
Why are you talking about two inferior pieces of gear to Skadi?
I wonder if people realize how incredibly useless this nugget of "wisdom" really is.Originally Posted by ryskar
I use Heca for when I stack SA with a WS, and use Dragon when I do a TA WS or just fire off a WS standalone. It's worked well for me, and I like having the added ACC of Heca for DE.
NQ discussions go thusly:
fSTR and a 30% WS mod are approximately equal, so Heca is exactly twice as good as Dragon for freestyle DE (DMG increment of 3 vs. 1.5 -- multiply by 6 hits -- 9 base DMG difference). Plus it's more accurate by 7 points.
If you're stacking a JA, then you get an additional 6 DMG from Dragon at a critical pDIF. The value of that distinction will depend on how low your Atk/Def ratio is. If your Atk is capped, then the damage is a wash and Heca wins for being more accurate. If Atk is low then the higher damage initial crit will lend some value to Dragon but if it goes too low then you'll be better off with Shark Bite.
DH! Why? Because when something nicer becomes available for you (eg. skadi), you can sell the DH, free up inventory, and reacquire your gil. Heca is glued to your ass forever.![]()
This is the correct answer. Newbie discussion section is beckoning this thread.Originally Posted by rithridan
