Full usukane as the best setup for MNK DoT

vs. Full Usukane

If my math is right, after factoring DEX and STR for attack, the difference between the two sets is 24 attack (trad setup) vs. 1% haste, 18 ACC (Usu set)

18 ACC is 9% effective hit rate (right?), so that should outdo 24 attack if I'm not mistaken?

If your traditional setup is gonna include an Usukane piece, you're gonna have to consider Usu head as well in "traditional setup" because it outdoes Walahra by a whole lot. I would use Fuma Sune-Ate or Dune Boots in the traditional setup part, to better express a comparison, or use a mixed gearset including more than just 1 piece of Usukane.

What about the other effects of STR and DEX? They do more than translate into attack and accuracy right? I don't know a lot about this stuff though.

Full usukane is better than any other alternative currently.

I am waiting on the body peice to drop to finish the Usu set and have been wondering if it is a good idea to macro in turban over Usukane head during focus, because my acc should be near cap during that period and I could gain an additional 2% haste. Or even Macro in turban and Usukane legs (over haidate) so I remain at the same haste and gain str/dex +attack.

Any suggestions? Keep Usu/haidate during focus? Use Turban/Haidate during focus? Mix?

When you get full usu you probably wouldn't need focus anymore if your other gear is also optimal (Acc rings, PCC/Torque, not shikaree and chiv chain).

Well, usukane somen also provides 3str/7acc which probably works just as well, if not better than, shura head. With 10% str modifier on asuran, isn't acc the most important anyways? I personally WS with the full usukane set on. What do you use for asuran?

I was more just curious if you were comfortable swapping usu mask over Dhead, my MNK is only 50, I use usukane with NIN and I'd do a pretty much full swap for WS, but I'm pretty sure that TPing in full usukane is the right choice for many situations.

I figure though, if you have near capped ACC, as you probably do if you have Spharhai / full usukane, you can probably do fine with D. head if you so chose.

Well, he doesn't use Shura Togi, so with Usukane body's ACC boost, might as well throw out the damn hand for something with more ATK.

But, I'm not 100% sure on what he wears on MNK WS.

I suppose he's wearing the usukane head for WS for the 2 ACC over D-head, since he's a really huge ACC whore.

If you were worried about being an Acc whore during Asuran, why not go with the Ohat?

Also, Nori's are red which is neat and all, but they're 10 Acc, where Gotes are 10 Acc and Subtle Blow (which last I checked works during WS too), nevermind not gaining anything from a Gotes > Nori swap, besides red hands.
