    Damn iPod and F-ing Apple.

Long story short: Does anyone know of a program that can read ID3 tags of any version, and then rename said file by that tag?

I had to manually rip the music off my ipod nano and it's all random, four-letter, RMT named files. The tags are intact, they aren't DRMed (I got the names back on the AAC/DRM music after using myFairTunes again. ), and it's over 700 files. Yes, seven-hundred. No, that's not lazy, heh.

I know it's a snowball's chance in hell, but does someone know of a program like that?

If they're MP3s Windows Media Player can do it, if they're M4P or AAC, you can tell iTunes to import them off the hard drive and do it.

In the library options you check an option that says something like "Allow [Program] to rename and reorganize my music"

I've gone over that app several times with no luck, could I ask for the stupid tour of it? (Also, I'll look into WMP doing it for me. Considering how little I use it for, I'm shocked it's functional at all for stuff like that.)

Similar program to the one above, except it's free and doesn't require shitty Itunes.

Re: Damn iPod and F-ing Apple.

Those two programs look brilliant, and thank you for the work in finding them. There's a snag, however. The iPod officially bit the dust, I think. Anytime I plug it in now, it runs loops installing drivers for it, if I try and force windows to manually install the default drivers and it recognizes the drive for access, anything trying to access it crashes instantly, explorer, run32dll.exe (the applet running the install drivers bit), iTunes, anything.

So, more or less, I need something that reads the files and will modify names, but uses the local harddisk and not the iPod.

Thanks very much for those two links though.
