I heard something scary about the EU version...

Fall? Seriously? If I have to wait an additional 6 months for the EU version I'll kill someone. I know Nintendo sucks horribly at bring shit out here, but this is rediculous. By then all my hype will be gone. And, I'll have 2 options, buy US Wii+Brawl (HAH, that'll be easy...) or buy a EU Wii, mod it and DL Brawl (actually easier).

Sigh. My day has been ruined, I hope Reggie is a lying, no-nothing dirty whore. Wait...

I'm almost positive I saw a release date for Summer, June-ish. Let me look for it.

If you decide to go that route, PM me and I'll put you in touch with the guy who did mine and show you where to download the DVD9 version and guide you through all relevant steps.

I wasn't even willing to wait until June and now I'm hearing the first week of December...

I was willing to give it a while. April/June-ish. Give me time to play Rock Band when it came out here and P3:FES etc. But fucking hell, Fall?...December even? That's taking the piss, not like my anticipation hasn't been crushed several times already, I said March would be the last straw

Anyway, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

That's a bad thing? Here I was thinking that hype got in the way of making good decisions... Sorry for singling this out but I am soooooooooooooooooooo sick of hype-obsessed gamers :/

If the game is good it will be just as good 6 (miserable, jealous) months later.

I agree, I tend to just wait till the hype on stuff dies down then go for it.

Only game I fed into the hype with was FFXI, for better or for worse.

Hype is probably the wrong word for it. Anticipation is correct. Brawl has been one of the few games I've truly been looking forward to. I can wait for MGS4, FFXIII and whatever else is coming out. But Brawl was something else. Kinda like a kid at Christmas, that kind of excitement.

I don't get drawn in my hype nor do I hype a game. I know what to expect, and I know what I will get. But can't I be excited about it?

Let us not forget the turd that was Halo 2/3, in all their over-hyped gloriness.

Going to edit it that I'm not a Halo fanboy, and any of those aforementioned that you talk about this always freak out and deny it.

That's the kind of shit I was thinking of. The games were nothing compared to the hype and Halo 3 is when I really lost tolerance for hype.

Nintendo really, really, really, REALLY needs to start rethinking their production schedules.

It's bad enough they can't keep up with the Wii demand, but their software too? They should have just held back the game for all regions and release them simultaneously when there's enough to spread around.
(Or just make the system region-free like it should have been. Problem solved)

Feel sorry for your EUs, the thing got delayed enough as is programming-wise (gg whoever screwed up the NA copy resulting in an extra delay for us), but an extra few months just because of production problems? Jeesh.

Why didn't they make the Wii region free like the DS? That's about the worst marketing deicsion I think you could make with a console these days.

And region-free stuff has mostly to do with how separate countries have separate copyrights, laws, you name it, for these types of things. I remember they had to edit Super Mario Srikers for EU because the game used the word "spastic".

And as much as I feel sorry for the people who have to wait for Brawl, I'm greedy and want to play it as soon as possible. I'd also expect you to feel the same. No hard feelings I hope.

One of the things that sucks for us is that we have to wait for everywhere in Europe to get their language translated. I speak English, I play my game in English but they won't just roll out a quick US-esque version for us. I mean, the Australian version is just a PAL version of the American one so where's the problem?

The best thing I did since buying a US/JP GameCube was getting my Wii chipped. I hate being treated like a second class citizen when it comes to gaming.

I'm not saying it's fair or anything, and to be honest I'm absolutely sure I'd hate it just as much if I got Brawl that much later. But, I REALLY want to play it.

This is one of the few games where I really wish they'd have just done a simulatious worldwide launch, I wouldn't be as worried about someone kicking my ass on the Midnight tourney, no one will be playing it before me (or after, for the most part, if they REALLY wanted it), but at the same time a launch like that would implode Nintendo's online servers from the face of the Earth for weeks. I'd rather try to avoid a gripe fest like XboxLive's last Christmas, so at least one good thing should come out of it.

It's a shame Wiis are still pretty hard to find here unless you camp them out. Makes it hard to import one for a fee that is even close to reasonable.

I know you know etc, that it's not fair. I'm just butthurt about it. You're right about the servers in that situation, but Nintendo never had the best online services anyway and to be fair, I wouldn't care if the servers sucked for a while. I have friends I can play it with offline anyway, even single player would make me happy as a pig in shit for a long ass time.
