Clocks

So the wife took me shopping for a nice wall clock for the livingroom. Walk into numerous stores and realize that something is wrong.

Most of the clocks now are like Pic A but I was raised with Pic B being correct.

When did this change? Why are all the clocks wrong? Why must our living room have a clock when I have a DVD Player, VCR, and a HD Tuner that all have clocks on them?

Which is correct?????????????

Please someone explain this because I refuse to buy the wrong clock but the wife doesnt like the styles of any of the right clocks.

Well, in American Roman Numerals it would be IV, but real Roman Numerals (anyone ever been to the Coliseum?) would have it as IIII.
