    Restarting advice

Okay, I used to be a pretty well equipped 75 THF and RDM (which was 65 before I got THF to 75, then I capped it to get merits quicker), not gonna get into it, but I was keeping up with decent WARs and such in merit parties. Anyway, deleted all my characters (proving a point = bad idea, especially when you break up with them 6 months later and have to start from scratch) and now I'm a level 14 RDM suffering through dunes.

    Goals:

Get back to being a level 75 THF as soon as possible.
Get back to my respectable level of wealth without buying gil.

    Current Plan:

    Get RDM to 18
    BLM/RDM to 37
    WHM/BLM to 37
    RDM/WHMorBLM to 75
Use RDM for merits and missions
    Get THF to 75

But now I'm wondering, what gets parties faster, or, more specifically, which levels to 75 quicker, COR or RDM? Is COR useful for Gods/HNMs/Jailers/Kings?

    tl;dr version:

Will RDM or COR be more efficient at getting me back to endgame ASAP?

RDM would likely be your best bet in terms of overall speed in getting back to endgame (milage may vary depending on LS/server though). As for subjobs, if your planning for RDM as your main, I'd suggest having DRK subjob leveled as well, as most endgame shells will expect it for a RDM main.

Of course I'll level those later, but those won't help me even a tiny bit in getting TO 75

You also have to consider that on COR you might be expected to shoot, instead of just doing rolls, therefore needing to farm for bullets and proper gear.

In terms of easier road to endgame RDM winds hands down, you don't even need BLM sub to take it to 75.

You're right, the extra farming would definitely slow me down.

Well, I already had RDM at 75 before, so at least I know for a fact I'd kick ass at it. Thanks the advice.

Skip BLM to 37, if you're aiming for speed, really.

The main reason I was going to get BLM to 37 was to solo missions and such, but I suppose I could just get help (if you hadn't guessed by my prior two 75 jobs, I'm a soloist by nature)

PS: Don't give me shit about how BST is a solo job, BSTs are manipulative animal extortionists and should be on Animal Planet with blurred faces getting arrested for dog fighting.

if you're gonna skip going blm to 37 for now, I'd reccomend taking that to 18 for warp and sj quest, then whm to 37 and rdm to 75.

Yeah, that's my new plan, not for SJ (RDM is already 16, might as well finish with it) but for warp and WHM sub (I never understood people going WHM/RDM, I guess its better than WHM/MNK)

    New plan is:

    RDM > 18
    BLM/RDM > 18
    WHM/BLM > 37
    RDM/WHM > 75

And the from there, subs and win.

    Re: Restarting advice

If you like soloing, RDM is awesome at it and COR is quite possibly the worst job in the game at it (only 90% suck now that DNC roll has been added, I guess). Leveling COR properly (i.e. doing as much damage as you can without getting killed, like any other DD, and having all your useful rolls) is also ungodly expensive. I love the job, it has a place at pretty much any end-game raid*, and I play it every chance I get, but in your case I'd go with RDM.

*With the caveat that the fewer people there are, the less likely it is I'll be on COR. So I often bring it to Omega/Ultima, but rarely Limbus chip farming.

Oh come on, people don't usually give up on BST till close to 20.

real RDMs don't need /whm as main healers! /blm with conserve mp trait ftw

You'll be getting rdm way faster to 75 than cor + as someone already said, you don't have high expenses for ammo/food. I think I got my rdm from 55 to 75 in 2 weeks .-.; frikkin ToAUexpansion lol

Elaborate? Is it really as good? The main reason I want /WHM is for status cures when I'm main healing.

    Re: Restarting advice

Did a little research, with /SCH I would get

Poisona at 20 instead of 12
Paralyna at 24 instead of 18
Silena at 44 instead of 38
Cursna at 64 instead of 58 (not that this one really matters)

I also wouldn't get Erase or Reraise at all (which I would get at 64 and 66 respectively as WHM), Curaga, Curaga II, Protectra II, Shellra II, Barelementras, or basic Teleports. One thing I would be especially down about losing would be Divine Seal for Converting purposes.

One thing I would gain as /SCH would be Regen II, but not until level 74. I suppose I would need to do more research about how SCH's Grimoires work to know if those outway the benefit of WHM, but it seems to me like WHM is just a lot more effective.
