Friendly Rampart discussion (Probably nothing new)

I just wanted to know how often people get pops on Bha remnants ramparts for the NMs. My ls does 2 scheduled salvage runs a week (Can be more but only 2 are mandatory).

In order to hasten my quest for usukane feet, I've been gathering groups of 6-7 via shouting(Who are interested in lotting 35: Marduk, Morrigan's, Skadi, or Ares) the other 5 days of the week for the past 2 weeks and will continue to do so until I have my Hikazu Sune-Ate. We usually target ramparts 1 and 2 if mad bomber is up and if not, we target ramparts 2 and 3.

Getting to the point, in these 10 runs, we've seen 2 sets of gate widows, 1 set of Pedos, and one set of Zebras. (By set I mean every rampart that has spawned at least 1 NM, has spawned more than 1) In total my runs have yielded one pair of 35 Marduk legs and 1 Freya's mask (Always at least bring th3, 4 if possible).

Personally, this is getting frustrating. I'd rather camp argus again (and that took me 2 RL months). Over 10 runs this way (in addition to however many times we've done this in my ls over the past year), and I've only seen the Pedos pop twice (only once with my pick up pts). So when our Pedos do pop a few nights ago it pops one, Freya's Mask. Then it pops another, no drop. Then the rampart decided to be an asshole and pop a third one as the last mob so it died and we got ported out.

Was just wonder other people's experiences on ramparts and how you feel about it. Is my luck the standard or are other people getting this bullshit too?

Re: Friendly Rampart discussion (Probably nothing new)

My group has pretty bad luck on ramparts too. We get lucky with mad bomber being up but always fail to get anything (1 macha's cuffs total). We had a streak where a few bhaf's in a row each spawned 3-5 Pedo's, and got zero drops (still haven't gotten any), and lately we haven't been getting any NM pops at all from any rampart.

It just boils down to luck like all of salvage does as far as drops go. Some people have obviously seen numerous bees pop + drop/double drop in the same run, which I would kill to see for my group.

Totally luck based, we've been 12 runs without a bomber. (Supposedly a 50% chance). We didn't see Macha's cuffs for around 15 ramparts then went 5 from 4.

Since there is an outside chance that elemental day affects ramparts being active or not I'd suggest spreading your runs across different days etc if you don't already. Other than that just keep working and it will eventually happen.

Re: Friendly Rampart discussion (Probably nothing new)

We used to get Rampart pops all the time. But since last Nov they have pretty much dried up. I personally have seen 1 Bees pop (no drop), 0 Widows (85% of runs Bomber isn't even up now -.- ) altho 1 run I wasn't there Widow popped and dropped a Macha's and Enlil's, 3F Cockatrice once and we got 2 Ares Hands and 4F popped for the first time for us the other day at 20% with 10 sec on the clock.... We run Bhaf at least 2 runs a week. Bhaf abosultely hates us atm. The last 6 months have been horrid for our group in Bhaf. 1 Morrigans, 1 Marduk and 2 Ares out of approximately probably 40+ runs is /wrists... Guess it is making up for our awesome luck on Usu feet in the first couple of months we did runs

In ten runs you have seen 4 sets of pops.

    Consider yourself lucky.

Of our runs I think one of the ramparts are active in ten runs.

I would love to see that many spawns. It took us 10 times on the bees just to see skirimish. But man when they are on we usually see 4-5 nms easily.

Re: Friendly Rampart discussion (Probably nothing new)

Well in my salvage group last 8 runs or so been like:

    1) 0/0 SP 0/0 ZZ
    2) 0/1 GW 0/0 SP 0/0 ZZ
    3) 3/3 GW 0/0 SP (2 cuffs, 1 legs)
    4) 0/0 SP 0/0 ZZ
    5) 0/0 SP 0/0 ZZ
    6) 6/5 SP 2/5 ZZ (3 suneate, 3 mask, 2 hands)
    7) 1/3 SP 1/1 ZZ (1 mask, 1 hands)
    8') 0/2 GW 0/0 SP

    20 NM's in 8 runs
(but 10 were in 1 run)

Can pretty much see from our runs we dont typically get much of anything but we been really really lucky once and just semi lucky twice. Bhauflau farming has always seemed all or nothing to me. You either get lots of pops or you get none.

Couldn't call. Had a real group of nabs last night. 3 first timers. Not only did I go over everything in /party, but I also had a 1 on 1 talk with each member of the group and yet they still did not grasp the concept of passing. Was only able to farm 1 rampart instead of two, like i usually do last night.

Clearly your pedobee pops are linked to me being in the zone. :bagel:

I'm gonna need to lot the boots though if they drop since my 37 Sam can wear them. :rocl:

Don't waste time with 6-7 people that can outlot you (assuming you would lot on other pieces too), you can do the routes you speak of with 4 people. This is what I've been doing with 3 other friends because of the same reason as you. 4 people farm this zone's ramparts without a single problem, except obviously 4F as you'll likely never kill a gear before it warps. 3 people can do it too, but it's likely to get messy at some point, you could have trouble killing Mad Bomber on time, door could miss NM pops due to 5 mobs being outside (i think no one has proven that an NM can pop if 5 mobs are already poped, although it's been proven that an NM can be out at the same time as other 5 mobs... so who knows if this is really a factor) and 3F will potentialy be hard, those colibris are stronger than the bees.

Also, there really isn't any new information about ramparts so this is kind of pointless, tbh. It's yet another thread where people will show off their number of drops or complain for their lack of drops, you'll side with the complainers until two weeks from now you'll get the drop and be happy about it, post here, make the rest of the complainers jealous and you'll forget about it. So yeah.
I could tell you about how many usukane boots we've finished in just a couple bee door pops, but you really don't want to know, as we are on the lucky side of it.

As for what i think, i think the same as everyone else by now. Ramparts are either ON or OFF and if an NM pops, more than one is very likely to pop, but there is currently no way to predict before had if it's gonna be ON or OFF. You could have the policy of exiting a rampart if no NM has poped on the first 2/3rds of its life, but there are instances of NMs poping as late as the last tick, so it's to be taken into account.
Also, i think the spawn condition for Mad Bomber is retarded and SE should go to hell for it. "Mad Bomber isn't up, ok, use flies". Seriously.

Edit: as for the number of people I bring. I bring anyone willing to come via shout. This being said, I wouldn't trust a smaller group. Some of these people have never even done salvage before and I have to teach them even how to get a remnants permit. Also, I'm not interested in anything on that run but the usu feet, which I don't bring usu lotters, so that shouldn't pose a problem.

Re: Friendly Rampart discussion (Probably nothing new)

Persistence is key. You think ten runs is bad? quit salvage right now. The drop rates may surprise you: for instance, my salvage group is currently 1/50 (2% droprate) on powderkeg yamadan in SSR. Now my group runs 7 nights a week, with 1-3 runs per night. A lot of people can make between 3-5 runs a week with a few weekend warriors, and a few everynighters The numbers don't lie. Ten salvage attempts is really nothing in the long run. You gotta keep at it and make it a habit.

For about a month straight I was doing Bhaflau farming 5 nights a week with a static group. The core consisted of a bard and me (blm) who wanted 1F, and a sam who wanted 2F, and we took some fill-ins usually 6 total. Half the runs MB wasn't even up and that was always a disappointment. After a month of mostly Bhaflau farming my linkshell started to complain that we were not being very diverse in which zones we attempted, and a few members were growing frustrated with the constant rampart spamming. As a result we decided not to spam ramparts for a long while. By then our sam had got his 2F drop, but the 1F people weren't so lucky. So I am going to conclude by telling you the moral of the story: 1) Keep with it and you will win 2) Since you are monk you will win before anyone else does 3) It could be worse

Now here are our stats for 1F and 2F:

    Reactionary Rampart - F1
    Attempts: ~43
    Gate Widow (66)
    -7x Macha's Cuffs, 10.6%
    -3x Enlil's Brayettes, 4.5%
    -10x Overall, 15.2%

    Reactionary Rampart - F2
    Attempts: ~69
    Skirmish Pephredo (55)
    -3x Freya's Mask, 5.5%
    -8x Hikazu Sune-Ate, 14.5%
    -10x Overall, 18.2% (2x drop once)

oh, no, I don't plan on quitting xD. You can call me Mr. Persistence. Got sea, brutal earring, and black belt before even having an airship pass just to make a point (ppl were like oh you'll only ever be nab with rank 3). Then I camped argus for like 2 rl months. The thread rly wasn't to say "oh hey 10 runs, i quit", but more of I just wanted to hear other ppl's stories concerning the rampart. I will do this 5 times a week until I get my shoes though (would be 7, but I have 2 ls runs/week). Usu shoes are win ^^

Also, thx for the Rampart data.

I did have a question though, if anyone has time.
When Mad Bomber doesn't pop, we tend to do the 2nd and third floor ramparts, instead of the first and second.
My question is how does a group deal with colibri? We always start fine, but unlike bees and chigoes, which we can handle every time np, the colibri always seem to overwhelm us. Any tips for that particular rampart?

... you get overwhelmed by colibris with 6-7 people? Yeah, maybe you are right, i wouldn't trust a smaller group if this was my case either. Anyway, because this might end up being helpful to someone else that might have the same doubt, the obvious way to deal with colibris is:

    Bring poison potions

Yup. And then just sleepga if you have a blm in that group or just let your BRD horde lullaby them as they come out. Make sure people know how to auto target and that they rotate around following what the main "caller" does, so that all auto target the same or at worst you fight only two at a time. Worst that can happen is to loose pops to the 5 pop limit.
In all honesty, i find it hard to believe that you get overwhelmed by 5 weak colibris with 6-7 people, so maybe you should analyze it in a case by case scenario.

The next best way to farm this place is to have friends and do it with them. Repeat until all your friends are happy with what they got and you'll get a much better sense of accomplishment. Ofcourse, that isn't possible for everyone for different reasons. I could guess some.

Also, in response to your silly image:
Friendly Rampart discussion (Probably nothing new)
It wasn't stating the obvious, it was confirming your aparent doubts from the topic title where you implied that there was a probable chance that this topic was worthless. As i said, i was just confirming it.
