Bind - Does is build?

I'm pretty sure this has been a pretty popular topic with more people than just my friend and I, but for the longest time he's always thought that mobs can build resistance to bind, whereas I myself simply don't believe that to be true. While neither of us has solid evidence or proof supporting our claims, there's been tons of conjecture related to mobs that begin immune to experience of RDMs spending one to two hours soloing a mob by spamming bind with DoT's.

So basically: do mobs build resistance to bind?

Regular mobs won't build resistance but HNMs I'd figure that most would eventually.

I've done some bind soloing and such before and haven't noticed anything myself, but I don't think they build any resistance either way. I can see how some HNMs or NMs might build a resistance, but it still seems unlikely. Would be a bitch to test

Short answer: Yes, mobs build resistance to bind. Especially if you have a poor gear setup for it.

I haven't noticed a significant build up to bind on RoZ mobs, at least if there is any resistance build it's not as noticeable as the gravity build-up. However, sometimes I swear Faust starts to resist bind during the longer fights....but that could just be bad luck on my part. You could test this on Ullikimi alot easier.

Certain ToA mobs build a resistance over time, but I believe such mobs are very specific and limited to HNM and ISNM mobs, like the Orobon in Compliments to the chef which resists bind heavily over time.

As for CoP, it's been a long time since I played with Ix's so I have no clue on those.

I don't recall Bind resisting/missing during Avesta's Seiryu solo, although Seiryu is weak vs Ice but I'm not sure how weaknesses fare here vs a God mob/NM.

I did an Uninvited Guests solo as rdm/nin doing the Bind/DoT method, towards the end I couldn't land a single bind. I was landing every single bind for decent duration for the first half of the fight. I have a pretty decent bind gear set, with 8 enfeebling, and 4 ice accuracy merits.

I agree on faust, if your doing him and its nearing the 40 min mark you'll see alot more casts where it wears quickly (Maybe cap on acc(Acc = Duration of bind), due to his current resist level?)

Pretty much more nm's will have a resistant to it after a period of time, Amakari (sp) is another most rdms will be able to note, if you run into problems then you will notice bind will start to wear off sooner and sooner (I use 103 total int, 342 enf skill for binds)

I remember doing the gun WSNM, I was being conservative/defensive and the fight dragged into the 90+ min range but I had zero Bind resists the entire time. Other fights like Bugboy stand in stark contrast.

Building resistance =/= Getting a flat out resist

Having Bind get to the point where it lasts no more than a second or two is what's being referenced. You just got unlucky.

The only things I've ever noticed building resistance to Bind are Campaign mobs. They all build resistance to every enfeebling spell very quickly.

And I agree that resistance build is on a per mob basis. However, was this WSNM before or after the gravity resistance build patch? Just curious. Edit: Scratch that, looking at the update, it stated the resistance over time for that particular update was for the spell gravity alone. So yea, mob specific.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but INT = MAcc for Black Magic, while MND for White Magic, and CHR for Songs.

Int will help the accuracy at least, it's hard to test what affects the duration.

I've done quite a few bind solos and I can't honestly say that any of the mobs I've fought build bind resistance over time. Over a long faust fight, you'll get resists but I attribute this to whatever acc cap is and the fact that you cast so many of them throughout the fight.

Yeah, things like faust, charybdis, and other long rdm bind-fest solos don't really build resist.

Truth be told, I've never run into this, so I would have to counter-disagree.

Albeit, I seldom use either of those spells.

I'm pretty sure SE had in updates notes that Sleep and Gravity specifically build up resistances. Bind, on the other hand, does not. Bind is not 100%, you will get resists, it is completely random. As often as bind is used, if it had a build-up, you would not be able to solo NMs.
