Can anyone successfully hit -4- BPs on tiamat when its on the ground before it flys?

I'm pretty sure you can hit 4 BPs if you time it correctly.
The correct way to gear your SMN for BPs is to macro in every piece -BP gear when you use the JA, and then switch to your BP gear (AF1 legs, AF2 body +smn gear etcetc) before the move actually goes off.
When we used to do Tiamat I would hit 4 Predator Claws repeatedly, it's not really that hard.
My highest claws was only 1109 (without AF2 hands/body).![]()
You have to be ready to BP when it lands, and start casting at :09 on your BP timer.
semi related question: for SMNs on tiamat with a COR in your party, what roll/BP combination would you use? Beast roll with spinning dive/predator claws? Does Puppet's Roll give enough acc that using Rush becomes a viable option?
I'm not sure what endgame SMNs merits, but I was thinking about how a COR would change things for SMNs on HNMs, specifically Tiamat and Khimaira. Anyone have any experience/advice with cor+smn?
Anywho, thanks in advance
i'd use the pet acc/atk rolls. i use predator claws irregardless of cor buffs or not(yaay high smn skill) but personally suggest any smn with low skill to just stick to spinning dive for smaller range of damage, less chance of missed hits.
predator claws is pretty much my go-to bloodpact, with chaotic strike a close second for blunt in general endgame events.
as for cor, it is very nice, but still very debatable how much of a boost it is.
I have every piece of BP- gear that SMN can get, and I'm pretty sure that to pull this off you'd need perfect timing and incredible luck. Tiamat stays on the ground for at least two minutes with an extension of at most 20 seconds. Keep in mind that 20 seconds is pretty rare, and it usually never deviates far from 2 minutes. With full BP- gear, you can get the timer down to about 45 seconds, so in theory, if it stays down for 20 seconds after the 2 minute mark, the 4sec delay of Predator Claws allows you to get a 4th BP in. However, this is a very extreme case.
I've personally found that the best gear to swap in for BPs is AF2 body for the added crit%, AF2 hands and AF1 legs for acc, AF2 feet and Sacrifice Torque for attack, AF2 horn for BP-, and whatever other random gear you normally wear for the rest. With this setup, you won't get the best out of BP-, but you'll be able to easily get 3 off without sacrificing damage. As for merits, I'd go full attack and accuracy. For COR rolls, it really depends on what merits the smns in the party have and what gear they swap in.
beast roll on lucky is about 35% attack boost with a bst in your party, i think about 25% without. I'm not sure how much acc pup roll gives but it's probably substantial, it'd be worth testing with Rush to see if you can connect all the hits etc.Originally Posted by frodnonnag
My question above assumed that you'd have to choose between atk and acc, as you'd have evokers for your 2nd roll all the time. Sorry for not asking clearly enough DX
edit: oh and it's feasible (depending on who else is in the smn party and how many buffs the cor has to do) that you'd be able to put up drachen roll while tia is flying, pup or bst on the ground. I'm not sure how big the boost is to pet matk/macc but yeah, should help nether blast out quite a bit.
I'm usually COR to Tiamat about 90% of the time. I always use Evokers and Beast's roll, and there seems to be quite a few more of those awesome 1k+ predator claws from the SMNs. In my opinion, that with evokers the SMNs can get a lot more done than with 2 pet buff rolls.
My dmg wasn't with a COR but anyway, for Tiamat I would personally prefer acc and attack because I like(liked) doing 3-4 Predator Claws and resting during flight and just letting BLMs do damage then.Originally Posted by Falisa
This is exactly what I was thinking. Our last tiamat -every- landing was 2mins, and like you said there is no way to get 4 in unless its the rare chance it stays down 20sec longer.Originally Posted by Everything
Tiamat + COR in PT and want some fun BP > Random Deal > BP > Wild Card > BP > Random Deal > BP![]()
In short, yes. You need some -BP gear obviously. With COR doing random deal you can do even more.Originally Posted by Ruin
