[Cerberus] Ratatapa

Anyone have any noteworthy experiences with Ratatapa? He applied for our linkshell, ArchDominus, on Bismarck. Thanks for the help in advance!

I do not really have much to say about end game as I never did end game with him, but he is helpful and nice to other people^^

He's annoying. Not many LS's cared for him at all in Cerberus. Frankly, i'm sure cerb's glad to see him leave the server.

Friendly guy. He posts on BG. You can search for his posts. I never played with him but he seemed nice and knowledgeable. The one bad thing I know about him is that he "stole" a wyrm beard from WW. They invited him in under the premise that he was purchasing the item. He lotted the beard, and the leader forgot to ask him for money, so when it dropped out he just left. When someone mentioned this on BG he just said, "Who cares, it's WW." Maybe a lot of people didn't like that linkshell but by typical Cerberus standards they're far from the worst LS on the server and it's a dick move to do that to anybody anyway. That's the only bad thing I knew about him.

So he did end up choosing Bismarck? I saw him shouting in Bastok the other night for opinions about the server. Hmmm interesting, I know him from long ago on KI when he and I used to frequent the now defunct Flamewars section. He seemed like a cool dude from forums, but I don't have anything a far as actually playing on the same server with him until now.

Interesting nonetheless.

I have spent much time with him and can say he is very skilled at his 75 jobs, and very determined. I will be sad to see him leave cerb I have known him for 3+ years in game and he is a great friend. Those who post hating ratatapa have reputations WAY worse then his. Ratatapa's biggest strength is his value for his friends, he will stick by you and help you. Those who will miss him will greatly outnumber the haters. He will be a valuable asset to any shell, he has much experience with endgame. Good luck on your adventures and don't look back at this server... Home of the ffxiapp creator...

But I can honestly say he's been a great friend and one of the handful of people I can say have made FFXI enjoyable for me. Most people that talk badly about him simply find him annoying due to the fact they're in linkshells with questionable in-game morality... And Rata enjoys giving those people a hard time.

As a player, he's skilled and learns fast. He's prone to bad spelling and the occasional odd phrase since he's from Canada, but once you get to know him you know exactly what he's talking about.

He will also get emo at times, but he will tell you this himself. Hahahaha.

For the right LS, I'd definitely recommend.

Never been in an LS nor done anything with him in-game.

We have had several conversations about PLD though, mainly about resist setups, MDT and MDB builds, he's always been very pleasant to talk to and has taken advice regarding these gearsets.

He knows many things about the game, plays his jobs decently (I hear), etc.

However, he's a total drama magnet.

Also, I hate his guts and hope he dies in a fire.

Within this thread, this comment is true. Almost all of the people who were talking badly about him are in Progeny or Armada, both shells which bot the hell out of everything and aren't afraid to admit it. I didn't really talk badly about him, I was just informing the OP of a situation in which his attitude could be considered shady or downright dickish. Better to get these things out up front - personally, I have no problem with Rata as he was always nice to me.

Maybe, but anyone the questions the in-game morality of Shabet needs their heads examined. Shabs is one of nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in FFXI.

Yes, Shabet hates Rata... That is been from her experience and is her right. I don't think anyone here is doing anything worthy of head-examination.
