    Airline Flights and Rain

Ok so this is a little sad but it's only like my 2nd trip flying and in Dublin at the moment. I am set to fly back on saturday but it's suppose to rain here (not thunderstorm). I am wondering, with the rain keep planes on the ground or what chance do I have of taking off with it raining?

I am thinking of changing my flight to Friday if there is a high chance I can't get out of here on Saturday but just don't know...

Who're you flying with? I work for nwa and any schedule change that's more than an hour they'll reschedule for no fee. I'd say wait until the weather has or doesn't have an effect on the trip.

Rain is nothing, I've flown out when it was raining/snowing/thunderstorm all the time.

Well shit you're screwed, they cancel everything. . .

Honestly, I'd doubt any airline this day doesn't have a we-cancel-we-rebook-you worry-free clause in their ticket. My advice is to just wait it out

well, usually it just depending on whether it is light rain or heavy rain, and also how is the wind... but in overall, it is easier to take off than landing the aircraft in those rain/snow situation

You and I are about to be working for the same company soon.

Back on topic, like most people are saying usually light rain won't affect the flights too much. You may have to wait in line longer to take off as a result of it but you should get off of the ground. If it starts raining really heavily and the lightning picks up, that's when the airport will shut down the operation until the weather lets up which may leave you sitting on the ground for an extended period of time.
