Canadian Laws Help?

Alright, here's my situation.. I'm in the military stationed in Alaska and will be moving down to Texas in about 45 days. I have 2 Dogs and a Cat, now I know that they need current vaccinations and clean health certificate. But do they need to be crated through Canada or to cross borders? Also, does anyone know what the weather will be like driving down the ALCAN, I'm really trying to avoid the Alaska Marine Highway.. If anyone can help me out please do. Thanks!

Edit: I already bought the 2008 Milepost, just don't want to be stuck at the border because of my pets. Also looking for any types of laws that Canada has for pets in the back of trucks at certain temperatures.

Short answer is no, there should be no problem. You do not need to have them crated to cross the border by land or by sea, but there will be restrictions on how they travel by air; check with your airline.

As for driving down from Alaska to the contiguous 48 through British Columbia, it's a long drive. Driving from Anchorage to Vancouver, BC via the Stewart-Cassiar Highway, BC Highway 37, is well over 2000 mi. I've never driven Hwy 37 myself, but I have seen pictures and it is both exceedingly remote and very beautiful. There is scenery up in the Northwest of BC that you can't find anywhere else in Canada, but it is very desolate.

The money and the fact that the Army is jewish and for some reason wont ship my two vehicles, instead they're going to pay me thousands of dollars to drive it to the lower 48 all while if say my family and myself die along the way pay my mom (last beneficiary) $700,000+ for compensation. Makes sense.... right?
