I imported FFXII so I got to experience the joys(way more HP), but as for the NA one, I just reverse decoyed that shit.(Not saying I couldn't reverse decoy it in the Japanese version, but I didn't know about those spells.)

Shinryu in the Monster Arena in FFX. It was years ago, but I remember him turning my guys to stone and breaking them into pieces. You couldn't swap someone else in after that, either. He was a bastard!

At least he stopped using that move when you only had one character left standing, unlike that Tanket-style mob in the arena that would attack non-stop if only one character remained alive.

You don't need to be maxed out, all you really need is to abuse Reverse unfortunately. Nothing in FF12 is really hard, Zodiark can occasionally screw you over, but that's about it.

Oh well I don't use those broken spells, I try to do stuff without abusing spells, etc.

You're right though, nothing is too difficult in FF12, even Yazimat can be taken down quite easily with enough patience.

Shinryu in FFV (original jp one played it on emu and patched in english).

In the GBA version there is a Neo-Shinryu version in the extra dungeon, however by the time i got there, It wasn't really that much of a challenge, still quite hard tho.



Edit: now that I remember, Penance from FFX PAL/International version was something apart too, I remember the fight was the longest fight I've had back then on any RPG, and wasn't hard just because of the lenght, but with some crazy attacks too, good stuff.

Or might be because when i played the original I was about 14 and when I played the other ones I was 19/25? Dumb kid.

SF -> PSX/GBA were not dumbed down. I think they might have messed a bit with the XP rate in the GBA, but not by anything noticable. PSX was literally an exact clone though.



Shinryuu was really easy in all 3 versions anyways. Golem and Corel Rings = lol

I'm gonna admit, the first time I played that game... Berserker did fuck me up.
Che Delias(sp?) and Xain get honorable mention as well.

That game had just the right level of difficulty if you didn't grind.

It was a long time ago, but the final boss in Dark Cloud I remember being an absolute whore to kill. Pretty sure it had two forms as well, so after you finally killed the first form (which was hardly a walk in the park) it suddenly transformed into some big-ass electrical insect thing that completely fucking owned you in seconds. Of course it's entirely possible that I just dreamed all that up and it doesn't exist, but my brother says he remembers it too so I'm guessing it really did happen.
