Just got this game yesterday. Managed to unlocked the 5th event, though, I'm finishing up the 4th event to collect every single gold medal (Sebenco Climb gives me a LOT of problems).

The game going at Phantom speed is INSANE. Rapier is a good enough speed, and the Venom/Flash class speeds are rather slow.

Currently <3ing this more than FFXI for the moment. Hopefully I'll be done with Wipeout before Fable 2 comes out.

I honestly have no idea. The last wipeout game my father had gotten (I was a little back during the PSX era) was "Wip3out" on the PSX. That, and I don't own a PSP, though, that could change soon.

There's a demo on the market so try that. And you also got Online (Have to press a button to voice chat though. Silly programmers.)

Really, at $20 though, even if its a revamp of a PSP title, its a damn good one.

Been playing Wipeout since it came out, it's my first Wipeout game and I'm loving it so far.
I've also been messing with the in-game camera.

Either I'm blind or I can't find it, as all I've seen on the market for it since it came out was the little preview movie and that's it.

[EDIT] You know what? Fuck it, just purchased it and downloading now. I want to see what a full 1080p PS3 game looks like...

Never thought I'd be much better at the game just from having analog triggers for the air-brakes.....jeez, hitting the walls a shitload less than I ever did in WipEout Pure on the PSP.

Man, this is much more addicting than the PSP renditions.........dualshock3, 1080p display.......no dinky analog nub to steer with or touchy frame-rate.....

[EDIT] Oh god, it just keeps getting faster and faster.......haven't had this much fun in a racer since the day I bought BurnOut3 for the PS2.

Such a weird feeling when you start laughing at the game for going a little on the insane side.....

Can't control the friggen thing at 1000mph, I don't know how people manage zone 50 using just air brakes when I can't pass 30 using analog.


Btw, this game makes me wish all other games (including FFXI) had a 'resume track' feature. Not having to have a song start from the beginning each round is awesome.

If only the online wasn't busted. Have yet to have a game online where all the opponent's ships not stay still at the start the entire match regardless of the fact they're actually racing around me as bloody ghosts.

Anyone know if the leaderboards are busted also? I own second place for a couple of the zone maps yet it hasn't appeared on the main list two hours later.


All this game needs is a replay and replay editor. Managed to do a couple insane jumps out of nowhere, only managed to capture the one on picture unfortunately. (will upload later)

I mean it in the sense that you can press the L2/R2 buttons slightly and the game will make your airbrakes only work slightly as well, rather than full-on which was the case in the PSP renditions of wipEout.

It allows you to bank the smoother turns a lot more easily.

Chiming in to say I love this game. Make sure you put your acceleration sensitivity down to 10% so you don't have to push X as hard as possible to get max speed!

$20 fuck yes. There's a lack of unlockables and the difficulty of obtaining them has been watered down, which is nice considering there's achievements to show off you can beat the AI on Elite difficulty in all 16 tracks in Phantom Class. Instead of doing the same just to get the best ship in game.

16 Tracks. 8 Unique ones (And then ya reverse them for an additional 8 more)

12 Vehicles (With 3 Skins each [2 of them need to be unlocked])

And a campaign that extends over... 56+ events. Though, I'm only on the 6th Campaign (Out of 8.). I suppose 80 events would be a somewhat accurate guess.

Not to mention 4 classes of rancing. Venom (Slow going at 375 km/h), Flash (475 km/h), Rapier (650 km/h) and Phantom (790 km/h). Put it this way. Venom = Slow, Flash = Intermediate, Rapier = Fast, and Phantom = zOMG WTF FAST!

Also, there's power-ups that work in the style of Mario Kart.

$20 is a bargain.

Starting to wish they had more emphasis on tourney/single-races than they do speed-lap and time-trials.........some of those speed-laps are an utter bitch to Gold on unless you know exactly where to barrel roll, and nail them all at the given opportunities.

You have to do a speed burst someplace in the map that normally won't give you extra air. Then do a barrel roll and land for that extra speed boost.

Laps are easier since you can speed boost just before you start a new lap.

Almost on event 7, and all I got left is a bloody 8-map tourney and three time-trials...blah.
