If you want to die I think getting hit by a train or jumping off a building would be best. Pretty much instant. If you cut your head off like they did using guillotines you are actually still alive in the sense that you can still see(I guess?lol). There is still oxygen left in your brain so you don't die instantly. I'd imagine there is some sort of pain since your brain is your pain receptor.
