    The controls...

    ...piss me off.

I hate that it shifts me from one plane to the next when I don't want to, and basically the whole "3rd dimension" aspect seems very flimsy.

Even jumping feels very awkward, and considering that what you do constantly, bleh.

Maybe I'll get into it more, just started playing the other day, but...I dunno. I'm terribly unsatisfied so far, I'm glad I managed to steal it from GameFly instead of paying for it.

Does this game get super fun at some point? It just makes me frustrated.

Seems to me that it is either a love or hate kind of deal with LBP. Not much in between. As for the controls and automatic plane switch... same thing. You either get used to the controls and adapt (like any game really...) or you never lose the sense of frustration with it.

Personally it grated on my at first, but after many more hours spent in the story mode, i just got used to it. I got used to how hard i need to press on the buttons/directions so that my Sackboy will do what i want him to.

But yeah, at first it is definitely infuriating. As for it being super fun? Yeah, i think that it is because every story level i played where i saw something new being done... it inspired me for my level(s) that i am creating. If the creation aspect is not something you are interested in... i think the game loses a lot of appeal.

The plane switching has probably saved my life more times than it's killed me. If you begin to create, you'll understand how essential a 3-tier plane can be. It's pretty vital. I didn't much mind the beta, got kind of bored with it. Bought the game anyway and played through the story mode...even then it was just so-so. After I started creating, and I mean really creating and not just dicking around, the game got incredibly fun.

A lot of people say they cant get the jumping, and i dont see what the problem is. I think with enough play you just get used to the physics in the game. Is the jumping bad because you want something more fast paced, or maybe you cant jump as high or as far as you want?

Then the planes, honestly you dont need to press up that often at all, and down you really only press to jump down stuff for the most part. If you're pressing it on the first couple of levels i'd suggest to not even worry about that until much much later.

Jumping in annoying when the floor is in movement. You think your character will jump high/far enough, but nothing happen because you were in free fall.

I agree that moving platforms usually make you jump really randomly. And the different planes are shitty. Half the time it doesn't automatically swap planes and you can't tell what plane a platform is on half the time (I died a few times on that level in the Wedding stages where you have to just run away because I tried to jump onto those bridges at the top only to fall straight behind them to my death).

The automatic shifting of planes is okay in the story mode, save for a few hangups like the Skulldozer level (jumping and falling past structures ftw). It works pretty well, overall. However, it's all but nonexistent in user generated levels, and that pisses me off to no end, especially when people design their stages like idiots as far as the different planes go.

Yeah, I'm looking at you, stages where the creator didn't extend the depth of anything past one square and you can literally just run along the front of the entire stage to the finish pad.
