Ok so I decided to come back to FFXI.

I have some retard questions. PLEASE DON'T TEAR MY HEAD OFF.

I haven't played in awhile (Read 2+ years) I never got a job past 45.

#1 : As far as leveling goes, what's changed from the usual grindfastto10->go to the dunes and tear your eyes out->get subjob ->get to 30->unlock jobs -> 3 years to 75 thing?

#2 : Again, don't kill me. What are the in-demand jobs that will help me level faster?

#3: Can I haez soem gilz?

1) Less exp to get 75, better ToAU camps and Level Sync have all made the grind easier.

2) BRD, PLD, RDM

Post 55, grinding is a lot faster thanks to experience bonus and other benefits of sanction. Mobs die faster and get chained faster. Also, Level Sync helped a lot and reduced seeking times.

You can level Bard ridiculously fast. Paladins, Red Mages and White Mages also enjoy high invite rates.

#3: Can I haez soem gilz?

Of course you can, but you have to work for it. You can use the IS(Imperial Standing) you earn from exping/meriting(similar to Conquest Points system) for ISNMs and make a good bit of gil. Also, suppose I don't have to mention Kindred and Beastmen Seals.


You can purchase registration codes and downloadable version from Direct2Drive ( Direct2Drive: Buy FINAL FANTASY XI Vana'diel Collection 2008 Download ).

New Vanadiel 2008 Collectors Edition is fairly cheap(20 bucks), and includes *all* expansions.

I bought the codes from D2D and once my internet gets stable again (Grrrrr) I'll finish the 5 hours of updates.

I've played RDM before and liked it but stopped at about 45 due to refresh-whore overload. Maybe I'll get that up first just to have a job to make gil.

I agree Maya, you could get the entire game for 20USD. The really crazy thing is, just the expansions each are 20USD. So not getting the collection would be like slapping yourself in the face.

Yeah I bought a collection code last night. I had my old install CD's so i installed everything first and I'm gonna run the update while I sleep tonight.
