UFC 94: Penn vs GSP

Hyped up big time for this fight. (Sorry if there's a topic already might have missed)

Think GSP gonna rock Penn in this fight. Been almost 2.5 years since Penn fought in this weight class and I think he's going to be overwhelmed with the weight difference of GSP compared to his other more recent opponents. Penns a great fighter but he hasn't fought anyone of GSP's caliber for many years now. Both of them are totally different fighters since their first fight, but the only differnce I see happening is that this will not go to the score cards.

Machida vs Silva a little harder to predict, both are great fighters. Personally I think Silva a more exciting fighter to watch so I hope he wins but Machida is so skilled it might be too hard to beat him.

Also look forward to the return of John Fitch, never really seen him till his match with GSP and was amazed by what type of beating he could take. Hope he has an awesome return fight and starts heading his way to the top again, can only become a better fighter now.

Any other opinions on how these will go?

I think it will be a great fight between two fighters that go 110% the whole fight.

Go Go GSP!!! I don't think this fight will go 5 rounds. But it's too close in my opinion to call. They've both grown a lot and become a lot better fighters since they first met. It will be really interesting to see how this fight goes down. I'll still give the edge to GSP since he didn't have to move weight classes, and he's had more challenging fights in the last couple of years.

Apparently if Machida wins he gets a title shot and if Thiago does he has to win 1 more fight before his shot. Seems kind of strange since Rampage was being called the next guy to fight Rashad before he was signed to fight Jardine.

Karo hasn't looked amazing his past few fights even though he won most of them, except vs Alves. He has experience and I would say he is the slight to moderate favorite but he is such a cocky guy I wouldn't be surprised if he takes Kim lightly.


Oh ya, and if anyone hasn't watched the Hbo 24/7 style countdown show for 94 then you can see all the episodes on UFC's youtube and their website. No one has an answer for the 327 elbows and 423 knees that stun gun will be throwing in rapid fire succession.

Two of my favourite fighters going head to head! It's going to be awesome. I have a BJ Penn tshirt that I got for free when my BJJ instructor went down to Hawaii and I have an Affliction GSP shirt because it looked cool. Since I'm Canadian though, I prefer GSP over BJ and hope GSP makes BJ tap out to strikes because of all BJ's shit-talking for hype. I'm also rooting for Machida, DHK, Diaz, and Bonnar on the main card.
