Personally, I think the best thing about the iPhone is the ability to access the net easily from anywhere. I wouldnt get it unless I were also paying for the 3g internet service.

On the other hand I wouldnt buy a gaming keyboard either. Ive never encountered a game where it was honestly too complicated to use the standard shortcuts. Especially since youre still going to be using a normal keyboard if you want to type anything.

So Id say iPhone.

my bf has the gaming pad and I love it. We use it for warhammer. It basically makes it so the only reason to use the keyboard is to type something in chat. But most of the people we talk to are on vent, so I rarely ever type anyways.

I'm not so sure on that one. Only because I have tmoblie and I guess they "hack" it or w/e to put in my sim card. So I don't think there's a plan required to go with it.

If you need a phone, and the iphone is your only choice.. well. But if you dont need a phone, id go with an itouch, but if you dont want one, go with the gaming pad.

No need to get sucked into an expensive contract when you can get an itouch+a cheap phone for a better deal.

The iphone will eventually lose it's novelty and you'll be tossing it aside with no regard... Get the keyboard since you'd use that regularly.

Heh, I have the same phone, just a different color. I hate it. Since I'm biased on that, I would say iPhone. (and how can they hack it? I'm pretty curious since I'm also a T-Mobile customer and wouldn't mind an iPhone myself.)

Keep in mind this all depends on how much you use the phone, as it seems you would use the keyboard a lot. I usually just go with whatever I'll use most in the long run.

Get the new Google G1. It's touch if that is all that you're wanting. No need to worry about hacking or voiding warranties.

^ I have an iTouch and I kind of wish I would have gotten an iPhone. It's annoying when my buddies are checking mail/internet and I'm not near a wifi. Some Apps on the iPhone rock but won't work with the iTouch (no mic/internet/etc). I didn't get an iPhone because I didn't want to have my parents pay an extra $15 or whatever a month for data. Little did I know they had already upgraded our service to cover that. Sadness.

I guess maybe I'm a bit more oldschool'ish with my cell phone. I don't mind texting, but I really don't see what else a cellphone should need to do. Most phones support some type of micro sd card for you to store music and other media. Also most support games of many different variations, though they're more Tetris/Brickbreaker than the ones in the commercial. Overall, you're looking at about $100 a month for all that you'd need on your iphone to access all it's features... I'll stick with my overpriced $50 an call it a day.

Besides, you can text google at 46645 and get tons of info so that alone would be what half of those netapps do anyway.

There are so many times when Ive used my cousin's or roommate's iPhone to access something where there is no internet around.

Not only that but my roommate keeps a bunch of our engineering work, emails, and all that fun stuff on it too. Honestly, I wish I had one. People have been saying that itll lose its novelty for quite a while, but every time I use it I just want it more.
