RE5 DLC: LiN + Desperate Escape / Mercenaries Reunion

So, downloaded the new RE5 DLCs as soon as they came out:

Lost in Nightmares: Chris and Jill in a mansion. Won't spoil story, if you've seen any preview videos you know what it's about. It's fairly short, first playthrough took me about 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes. You have to beat it with Chris, to play as Jill after. Weapons/unlimited ammo don't carry over, not sure if you can max them or unlimited ammo, only played through once. There is a points system of some kind, not sure what they're used for.

Has a very RE1 atmosphere, i'm sure a lot of players will be like "Why wasn't the whole game like this!?" Was really very fun, worth the 400MS points to me, but i'm a pretty big RE fan.

[edit] Wow, there's a way to switch it so the DLC mission plays ala RE1 camera style. Fixed camera positions, control scheme etc, this is pretty cool :D

    Mercenaries Reunion:

Same levels, but time extension locations are changed/maybe even removed. Seems A LOT more mobs spawn, and new mob placement / mobs that werent in the original area.

You can't play as the original Mercenaries characters, and to be honest, i'm not sure if the ENTIRE thing is a DLC? It actually might not be, with the DLC portion of it being unlocking Barry (and Excella). Barry is actually pretty cool. There are new weapon layouts for the characters, and i'm fairly certain some new weapons. Not sure if you can unlock any new characters in it (the ones that are shaded out), or if they are DLC only (in the near future, I know Rebecca is DLC coming up). I only blazed through the levels pretty fast with B and A ranks, so if you can unlock more chars, it's probably going to be an S rank+ or using certain characters on certain stages.

Pretty fun stuff, worth the money spent on it, excited for the next DLC with Josh and Jill (though it won't top spooky RE1 feeling).

Any idea when this comes to the EU store? I don't know if its possible to buy it through an NA account to the European game.

Ill pick all of these up later on down the road, in RE 5: Gold, I had RE 5 last year and played the shit out of it. Kinda ridiculous they wait a year for DLC tho.

Uzor: It may be there already, I don't actually know, but it was ridiculously difficult to find the DLC when it came live, had to go under "Game Add-Ons" -> "All Game Add-Ons", R -> Resident Evil 5 --> Most Recent.

Was an update for the game today, and all it added without buying the add-on was about 5-6 new figurines (all I noticed from my initial browse-through)

Lol, some of the fancy new moves are awesome. Liking Warrior Chris a lot so far with his load out and Elbow Slam

sucks that weapon upgrades and infinite ammo don't carry over to the DLC. Are there new weapons at least?

No new weapons so far. Lost in Nightmares was played entirely with the M92, the first Magnum, and I think the PSG Sniper

Mercenaries re-union I believe has some new weapons, not 100% sure I was half asleep and kept tossing what looked like a new SMG on Sheva.

Yeah, Barry might have a custom pistol or something. I haven't unlocked Business Sheva or Heavy Metal Chris yet to see what they have. Rebecca might also have something new, the trailer shows her with a mace of some sort but that's probably just a melee prompt.

Big Lost in Nightmares Tip (End)
    Spoiler: show
Make sure BOTH you and your partner pick up the handguns at the end before walking any further. As soon as you step into the hallway, you're put into a cutscene and thrown against the boss. I picked up the handgun, but my friend only had an egg...

letting jill have a gun for the final boss is almost pointless anyway, since all she does is waste all her bullets. I would say 75% of the damage I did to the boss was melee anyway

I'm gonna play through Lost in Nightmares as Jill, maybe some Merc Reunion in like 10-15 min if anyone wants to watch / co-op or whatever.

Well, I meant more for actual players rather than an AI lol. I haven't tried it solo yet.

Just played this, even though this portion is really short, I enjoyed it a lot. If the whole game's atmosphere was like this, I would've definitely enjoyed RE5 more. Played online co-op but was kinda annoyed because I wanted to play with someone who knew what to expect just as much as me but was someone who seemed to know what to do. I like how they slipped in a remix of the RE1 save music at the end too. Even though it's a short loop, it's really soothing.

How much does this cost to download for the PS3?

I think it's like 5-6 bucks. What did annoy me definitely though was how the costumes cost like 2 bucks. Was a low blow in my eyes.

What sucks even more is that you get the wrong costumes! At least it's that way on XBL...did PS3 get Business Sheva and Heavy Metal Chris?

Not gonna go into a lot of detail since quite a bit has been covered...This has been my favorite DLC I've purchased. It's not long, I beat it in an hour and 30 mins on Veteran...but the atmosphere was cool, and the ending RE1 remixed song is awesome. Wish they remade RE1 w/current gen gfx . Anyways, this was worth every penny to me!

Yeah it was wrong costumes on PS3, however... I just can't bring myself to complain, since y'know, Fairy Tale Sheva > Business
