Anyone ever get one of these before ? I got one last week making a right turn on red and bam... piece of shit camera took a 12 second video of me doing it. Let alone they send you a pic of your face and license plate as well. The fine sounds fucking unreal at 400$+ Way to ruin my summer. Any of you had luck reducing your fines on these bad boys ? /sigh

No. I work for UPS so I'm pretty good about my driving. Sounds lame but I was rushing to the hospital to me my wife and father-in-law before his surgery. Will the judge by that ? XD

I never fully stop, I pause long enough to make sure it's clear, but I sure as shit don't fully stop when it's late at night, when I know it's clear.

Those cameras aren't exactly well-hidden, if you're paying even a little bit of attention you'll see them well before you reach the intersection and can be on your best behavior for all of the 3 additional seconds it takes to stop before you turn right. But keep on bawwing about those 400 bucks, it's funny.

BTW, pedestrian walking lights are retarded. In CT if the walk like is on ALL traffic lights are set to stop. But here, the opposite side will still have a green light. Which always throws me off.

it's very unsafe imo. And CT does have it even in hartford, and it's not that bad. Seriously how many people are crossing the street that would cause major traffic if they were all red....it's usually that's green anyways so you have to wait for the to cross first before going.

Same here in Michigan. Also, I always stop before making right (or left...) turns regardless of the time. I'm a super paranoid driver.

Part of me says "just don't run red lights", and the other part dislikes the concept of automated law enforcement. The more society introduces disconnect between the human side of policing, the more uneasy I become.

It's not just coming to a full stop either. A lot of traffic cameras are setup to give tickets even if you stop, if you are past the line. In some cases that isn't far enough out to see if traffic is coming from the left or right, so people pull past the line.

We had a big deal with these things in Iowa not to long ago. The problem was that a fine for an automated red light camera ticket was higher if you were pulled over by an actual cop for doing it, which regardless of whatever your opinion is of running a red light, is bullshit.

Eh, I've got a road right near my house I'd hate to see a red light camera on (and I just heard they are coming to my town). Due to the angle of the intersection there is a good 3 car lengths between the stop line and where you pull up and see if cars are coming from the left.
