    3.2 Mount Changes

    In the next major content patch, we intend to adjust mount requirements to further improve the leveling experience in World of Warcraft. In addition, cast times for summoning all mounts will be reduced to 1.5 seconds, down from 3 seconds. The following is a breakdown of the upcoming cost and level requirement changes we are making for each riding skill.

    Apprentice Riding (Skill 75)

    * 60% land mount speed
    * Requires level 20
    * Cost: 4 gold
    * Mount cost: 1 gold
    * Mail will be sent to players at level 20 guiding them to the riding trainer

    Journeyman Riding (Skill 150)

    * 100% land mount speed
    * Requires level 40
    * Cost: 50 gold
    * Mount cost: 10 gold
    * Mail will be sent to players at level 40 guiding them back to the riding trainer

    * Expert Riding (Skill 225)

    o 150% flying mount speed; 60% land mount speed
    o Requires level 60
    o Cost: 600 gold (faction discounts now apply)
    o Mount Cost: 50 gold
    o Can now be learned in Honor Hold (Alliance) or Thrallmar (Horde)

    Artisan Riding (Skill 300)

    * 280% flying mount speed; 100% land mount speed
    * Requires level 70
    * Cost: 5,000 gold (faction discounts now apply)
    * Mount Cost: 100 gold
    Amazing.

    Edit: Update:

    In 3.2, the following changes will be made to druid movement forms:

    Travel Form: Requires level 16
    Flight Form: Requires level 60 (150% flight speed)
    Swift Flight Form: Requires level 70

    I remember running everywhere until 40. Wasn't that bad, ok it kind of was.

    I'd say what's even worse is that 225 flying skill was so gimp for so long, but 150% for barely above 500g is a little much i'd say. 100% would of been balanced.

    balanced for who, exactly? The people without 500g? You won't even see much benefit from the extra flying speed till you hit the really big zones like Terokkar or Nagrand.

    This is a slap in the face to people who have been maintaining multiple 80s for months.

    On the other hand it's great for people like me who barely have alts! I have one at 27 one at 48, so I'll be benefitting from these hoorah. At least I ploughed one character through it proper eh?

    Thank the fucking Lord, flying mounts in Outlands for my alt!

    I thought it was retarded that as soon as I could learn to fly in Outland, I moved onto Northrend.

    They weren't left behind when the first land mounts were lowered to level 30. I doubt they'd forget them this time around.

    Except now Travel Form is significantly less useful than before.

    I'm detecting 900ppm of residual whooshbait on it so yes. This is just going to delay any alts that I have from leveling now, except my 76 war.

    I'm wondering if the standard level 20 travel abilities will be lowered to 10 or 15. (Blink, Aspect of the Cheetah, Sprint, Ghost Wolf, etc.)

    I think the fact that all of those are castable in combat means they should stay where they are.

    ..Why would it matter, exactly? There is no conceivable balance to consider 10-20, it would only serve to speed up those levels.

    Those abilities were placed 10-20 levels before regular mount for a reason aside from their PvP utilities-- to speed up the levels without a mount. It would make sense to continue this tradition and make the abilities level 10 or 15.

    Wait wait wait:

    Journeyman Riding (Skill 150)

    * 100% land mount speed
    * Requires level 40
    * Cost: 50 gold
    * Mount cost: 10 gold

    * Expert Riding (Skill 225)

    o Mount Cost: 50 gold
    o Can now be learned in Honor Hold (Alliance) or Thrallmar (Horde)
    Am I fucking crazy or does this say that when you learn flying, your speed on ground mounts falls to 60% until you get epic?

    I know non-epic flying mounts are 60% on ground, hopefully that's what they're referring to... but that sure looks to me like it's saying when you have expert but not artisan you can only move at 60% on ground period...

    I think it's just poor wording.

    About the change overall, I feel it's great and I have multiple Artisan riding skill 80s and have no plans on leveling another class ever. Long travel times suck and anything done to shorten them is good, in my opinion.

    I doubt it, at least until the next expansion.
