So I just purchased a new HD online as I'm always deleting stuff off my HD to make space for whatever new show/anime/game I'm getting into.
My current plan is: Move animes/music and such to new HD. Re-format internal HD and install Windows 7 on it.
However, with me currently playing WoW and FFXI, it'd be nice to be able to not lose a day of my life installing and patching those games, so I figure I'll also copy those over to my external. I don't want to copy my full registry settings, and going with an OS switch it's likely that wouldn't work. But can I copy just parts of it to still maintain both MMO's functioning in Windows 7 or would it be a better idea to just go through re-installing the games? I'm currently running XP and from what I've read you need a Vista patch to get FFXI working in Windows 7, so I'm not sure if the "easy" method will work or be ideal.
Are there any reasons to go the long way and re-install both games? Is there any decent likelihood I'll lose functionality by copying things over? What would be my best method of going through with this?
