Ok not really. I don't even have a car. Is there any way to stop these super annoying calls? They tell me my car warrenty is about to expire, final notice etc etc. I like to keep my cell number private - nobody really knows it, and it's used mostly for work, but I get these calls just about every day. The problem is part of work involves me getting calls from numbers I don't recognize so I always pick it up and it's just these assholes again.

Robocalls: Who The Hell Are These People Calling My Cellphone About A Car Warranty?

I've had these idiots call me at least a dozen times in the last year or so. Every time they call I yell at/calmly ask them to remove my number from their calling list. Twice I asked them for a name of their company and a mailing address where they can be reached, but apparently their operators are trained not to give this out because it means they'll be reported to an attorney general and hang up. I've since put my phone on the national do not call registry but I don't think it will help.

Comcast called me the other day to extend me the triple play offer (cable+phone+internet). It took the rep literally 10 minutes to explain all the cost savings, uninterrupted, and why I should get the other two services as well since I already have comcast boardband. Then I politely replied saying I don't have a TV and am getting all the tv programs via torrent and hulu. She sounded shocked and incredulous but thanked me and promptly hung up. I couldn't help but chuckled.

Don't even say 'hello,' as robodialers are programmed to start playing their message at the first sound coming from the phone that picks up. Nowadays I've taken to saying nothing, and if nobody says anything after two seconds I hang up.

If anyone finds a way to destroy these machines, let me know. My cell at work gets these calls at least weekly, and it's annoying as shit. I wish my phone had a feature to block all incoming calls except numbers i have pre-programed into a list. ._.

This does not work. The car warranty thing is a huge scam and so far no one has been able to block them or stop them. I get these calls all the time as well as stuff in the mail from them. I am on the no call list.

I did actually try to talk to someone before, when it prompts you to press 1 to speak to a representative I did and waited 10 minutes on hold. As soon as someone answered I asked if they could add me to their no-call list and they immediately hung up on me.

You could try googling the phone number that is calling you. I did that for an out-of-state number, that I didn't recognize, but had called me a couple times. I found a site explaining it was a commonly used company that car dealerships use to make automated calls. There was also a phone number to call to get off that company's call list.

When they call, and the rep. gets on the phone, I put it next to my dog's face...he starts licking and breathing...funny to me at least.

You'd have to find out who they are first, and they're extremely elusive, lie, or just hang up on you when you try to find out.
