Extending a wireless network across 2 close buildings

Friend I have has their modem and wireless router in building A, and wants building B to have a strong wireless and wired connections, they wont run wires or just use the existing wireless connection. Both A and B will need to connect to computers wirelessly and also have ethernet ports to connect wired computers.

From what I can understand the most reliable thing to do is get something like a WET54G wireless AP and hardwire that to another wireless router with DHCP disabled, or a switch, so computers on building B can connect wirelessly to that AND get a wired connection from it. I dont think the AP also acts as something to connect to wirelessly does it?

I'm kinda confused and I know you can somehow do this with just a wireless router but I'm not familiar with it and if I get it working I wont be around come winter time to fix it if something goes wrong. I don't want him to buy something that doesnt end up working right so preeze help me!

Repeater Bridge - DD-WRT Wiki It's pretty difficult to set up, and the speed between the two buildings will be slow.

Is there a way to do this without flashing stuff with dd-wrt? I knew it was possible with this but just to avoid complications and make it easy to use incase something goes wrong I'd like to use just out of the box stuff with the software already on it, like using an AP and router combo or something

Awesome, Im assuming that will retransmit the wireless? or does that just distribute wired? What I had in mind was a combination of this AP into this router but if that cisco one works for also retransmitting wireless than thats all I need


edit: I just talked to one of their associates and they said it will re-transmit wireless as well so thanks a bunch for finding that, looks like it'll do what I need.

Err, upon further investigation I don't think the item I linked will do what you want. >.< It looks to me like it's just a bridge and not an access point+bridge combo. Although you might be able to get a separate AP and connect it to the bridge to handle the wifi clients in building B, but I'm not sure if it won't interfere with the wireless bridge.
