Mouse Doube Click

For some reason, when I click the mouse once, it tends to act as if it double clicked. For example, when selecting an icon, it sometimes double clicks the icon (Despite me only clicking the mouse once), and loads whatever the icon is there for. I check my Bluetooth settings (Bluetooth KB + Mouse) and didn't find any odd settings. Any ideas?

My old mouse had the same problem (a Microsoft Habu). I never really figured out what was wrong with it, sometimes it would start working fine and I'd think it was fixed and then a couple weeks later it would start happening again. I eventually just got frustrated and bought a new mouse (Razer Deathadder). So this probably wasn't a help to you at all, but I at least know the annoyances of dealing with a double click problem like that! Hope you can find a fix.

If you go in control panel > mouse

Check where the "speed of double click" is.

try to put it more around slower if you think it's too fast

Hijacking for another mouse-related problem. I have gone through 2 wireless mice now, and both seemed to have the same clicking issues. Sometimes when I left click the computer doesn't register the click at all, and I have to spam click sometimes. Both mice are wireless and Microsoft, and I'm running on Vista. The receiver definitely isn't impeded by anything and I have the most current driver / software.

Any ideas?

Logitech Mx Laser I think? I'm looking at the bottom of the mouse, but I'm not sure what information I need to provide. Both the KB and mouse use a Bluetooth adapter (Not sure why since my laptop *should* have bluetooth installed).

If you were responding to me, my 2nd and most current (2 weeks old) wireless mouse has the problem, as well. So doubt that is it :/ I play a lot of FPS, but...come on

To make sure it's not a problem with the logic components, change your mouse to lefty mode (or righty mode if you're currently using it left) and try clicking with the appropriate button. If it works "properly", then it's a worn out button, nothing you can really do about that. If it still tries to double click on single clicks then we might have something to work with.
