    Windows 7 Install Q

    Hello,

I installed Windows 7 from Custom install(DVD) on my roommates computer earlier tonight.

He had like 25 GB left on his HDD before I installed, and after I did the install, he has about the same left. I thought the custom install wiped the drive and reinstalled? What am I missing? I can search his computer and check his control panel for programs, and he only has the 5-6 we have installed post-Windows 7 installation.

Why does his C drive show only having like 25GB left, yet none of his old programs/apps/files seem to be on the drive?

They obviously didn't fill unallocated space or the print kernel XDD jk

Edit - After thinking about it for 10 seconds, does it have to do with the windows.old folder? If so, safe to delete this?

I've heard of people having problems with a non-windows 7 formatted partition although I have not had that problem. When you're installing if you choose advanced installed you can format a particular partition right before the install.

I also don't have a problem with the above. You can safely delete windows.old, but it might be worth sifting through, getting stuff like firefox bookmarks if that matters to you.
