I don't know about the 500-600 price range, if you want "really high settings." I got this one:
    ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

I found it at Best Buy for like $995 or something, and it runs WoW very well. I sometimes drop to 20 fps in 25-mans with a lot of lag (Ony whelps, Thorim arena etc), but on the whole I've been extremely happy.

I typically use newegg.com when trying to find cheap hardware.

ASUS seems to have some of the cheapest laptops that work well for gaming (you can sort the laptops / notebooks by brand).

Definitely read the customer reviews to see if there are any particular problems with a certain make or not.

When looking for a lower - mid end gaming laptop typically check for these things in the laptop itself:
    1. Dedicated Graphics Card (Most now are 512MB - 1GB in this price range)
    2. CPU speed
    3. RAM - Standard on a new one is about 4GB

Was gonna post url for this laptop, but needs more posts.

ASUS K70AB-X2A NoteBook (found on newegg)
