FFXI problem

idk if this should be in this forum or tech, but when i tried logging on to ffxi recently this comes up everytime and i cannot login, and when i click check files it just freezes :/

anyone might know what my problem is?):

its never a ffxi problem

its a people problem

but seriously, before re-install, check your disks, could be your Hard Drives going bad in the section ffxi and pol high priority files are residing. Also could be dxdiag problems too.

tried opening regular POL and checking files, just froze up, HD is all good, and i tried removing members and readding them and that just made it so it error'd out everytime I opened POL, also there was nothing but JP text in POL :/ but just finished reinstalling and patching...go me haha

i had that problem a couple of times about 2 years ago. think i just reinstalled pol. or i mighta grabbed some clean files from another computer and dragged them into the pol folder. either way aye, a simple 'check files' won't work

I've had this before as well, reinstall PoL and you should be fine, it won't mess up your current ffxi install.

so all I had to do was uninstall/reinstall POL only?!

I uninstalled/reinstalled everything XD lol

I've had this happen to me before, not sure why. You can try deleting the file that stores login information (Program Files\Playonline\SquareEnix\PlayOnlineViewer\usr\a ll\login_w.bin) which will erase your stored logins and then reload POL. From there you can add all your accounts back if you remember the info for them.

As others have said, file check is probably a good idea as well.
