Making PS3 wireless

Ok so I bought a 40GB PS3 a long time ago. At the time I did not need it to be wireless as I had a router no more than 10 feet away from the system. However I moved and in my new place the router is on an entirely different floor.

So is there any device out there that I can use to get my non-wireless PS3 able to connect to the internet without a really really long ethernet cable?

Wait, don't all PS3's come with wireless adapters integrated within them?

I believe the 40GB may have been the only one without the wireless integrated, but it's been a while since I've read up on it.

the 40GB was the model that did not have wireless integrated into the system. It has an ethernet port however

The older model ps3s do not come with a wireless card. A friend of mine with a 60gb backwards compatible ps3 complains all the time that he doesn't have wireless on it. A quick google search yielded this find: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WGA600N
not sure if you want to spend the money but this should work to connect to your wireless network.

Oh, that sucks. Well anyway, you need to purchase a wireless ethernet bridge, which will allow you to connect wirelessly.

Something like this would do the job, in fact I have that exact model and it works fine.

I have a 1st gen 60GB PS3 and it has wireless...... >_>;
When it first came out I thought it was only 60GB(full featured) and 20GB(core) versions and the 20 had no wireless or card readers or silver trim....

Yeah, your friend is either an idiot, got conned, or he is lying. Only PS3's that didn't come with b/g wireless is the 20gb model, which went out of production a long time ago.

OP, you should have wireless also, unless you got conned in to buying a 20gb PS3 with a 40gb hard drive inside it.

Ive got the box and bought it at Bestbuy.... Looks like I might have to have a little discussion once I find the receipt. Otherwise thanks for the input everyone.
