Well, I dunno about everybody else, but I'm sick of waiting lol.
Here's the most recent preseason rankings, as of July 2nd. I think USA Today and ESPN will come out with their official ones sometime this week.
College football preseason Top 25 grid - ESPN
4/5 have 3 Big 12 schools in the top 10.
5/5 have 3 SEC schools in top 10, a couple put LSU in there for 4.
It's kind of amazing, you'd have thought last year was about as intense as it gets with the way the Big 12 went, but this year has potential to be even crazier.
Anyway, here's my lists for now:
What I think the top 10 *will* be in the "official" polls in the next few weeks:
1. Florida
2. Texas
3. OU
4. USC
5. Va Tech
6. Bama
7. Ohio State (6&7 may be switched)
8. Penn State
9. Oklahoma State
10. Ole Miss
Here's what I think the top 10 *should* be to start the season:
1. Florida
2. OU
3. Texas
4. USC
5. Ole Miss
6. Oklahoma State
7. Bama
8. Va Tech
9. Boise St.
10. Penn State
I put OU ahead of Texas atm because Orakpo was an absolute beast, and OU didn't have any loss on quite that level.
And here's my predictions for the end of the year:
1. Oklahoma State
2. Florida
3. Kansas
4. Ole Miss
5. Bama
6. LSU
7. Texas
8. Boise St.
9. Oklahoma
10. USC
I'm officially predicting now that OkSU takes out KU in the big 12 championship, and in an epic battle against Florida is able to take full advantage of their balance, while limiting Florida's crazy playmaking ability, and therefore exposing Florida's lack of balance.
And, yeah, you read that right, I put 4 SEC teams in my predicted end of year top 6.
It must be nice not having to actually play the other good teams in your conference ;p
Seriously, though, if Florida loses a single game this year, they don't deserve to play in the NC over any of probably at least half a dozen 1 loss teams that will be in the running.
