    Additional Rewards for Random Oculus

    LOL

To encourage players not to shy away from the many invigorating adventures to be had in The Oculus, we have applied a change to enhance the rewards players are provided when selected for this dungeon via the Random Heroic option in the Dungeon Finder. Once Ley-Guardian Eregos is defeated, one loot bag per character will be provided in his chest in addition to the current rewards. Each loot bag will offer players rare gems, two additional Emblems of Triumph, and a chance of being rewarded the Reins of the Blue Drake. These fine treasures could be yours should you honor your fellow party members by besting the challenges contained within The Oculus! Keep in mind, however, that these extra loot bags will only be awarded to each party member if Oculus is selected by the Dungeon Finder when players choose the Random Heroic option.

In light of this change, the Reins of the Azure Drake will now have a chance of dropping in both 10- and 25-player versions of The Eye of Eternity.
Rather pathetic. Catering to the whiners who can't complete the fastest WotLK heroic using 3-4 simple abilities.

wanna bet they still bail out the minute they see it?

Ive stumbled upon a large group of people ditching Old Kingdom aswell. I guess its too much to ask that you dont just close your eyes and run straight through the instance (hello Utgaarde Keep)

9 triumphs for a 20 minute dungeon? ...and free (epic?) gems?

Utgarde Keep is possibly the worst Heroic there is and the one I would skip personally. 3 Bosses separated by about 20+ trash pulls < OCC or OK.

UK takes 11 minutes if you chain pull and skip trash like the smart people do.

How you can make any claims for UK being worse than VH is beyond me. It's 3 bosses separated by 15 waves that you CANNOT SPEED UP.

OK's not that bad if you make a point of having the watcher corpse daily in your log before you start it. Double the cash that way.

That requires flying to the instance, who would ever do that?

Coming from a person that doesn't play that much, I laughed when I saw this. I never did Occulus before the first nerf (never had a chance), but after it through the RDF it was incredibly easy and fast.

Coming from a FFXI player people whining about the length of ANY heroic is completely retarded. These dungeons are insanely easy, even the first two new ICC ones, and especially if you are a DPS.

WoW players are some of the whiniest people in the universe. This is my best example of that: I got tossed into a PoS run after the first boss, and I was healing. I got to the party, buffed, then started drinking just to be topped off before we started pulling. The Warrior runs away, charges into the next pack of mobs, far out of my range and dies before I can even get to him.

The warrior then says "Healz where? LOL" and drops party. At least before the Warrior dropped party the Moonkin there mentioned that he had run in before I was even ready. This stuff is so common that I have no idea how people don't want to scream using the RDF. The average WoW player wouldn't last a minute in any other MMO.

You don't have to fly there to pick it up in a dungeon finder group, but you will have to fly back there to get the money for it.

The difference between WoW and FFXI is there's actually some community interaction between the devs and the players. Whether or not you agree with this change you can't argue that the devs do listen to complaints and they actually get fixes in the game as fast as they can. You can say WoW players are a bunch of whiners but the same could be said about FFXI players just you never see changes because SE really doesnt care.

There are a lot of differences between FFXI and WoW, but from the point of view of FFXI players, WoW players tend to be impatient, whiney bastards when it comes to things like the new PUG system.

It's not the complaining of Occulus that got them to change this though. Players would instantly leave Occulus before some players would even zone in. I bet their data showed this and hey what better way to make players do occulus then omg a chance at a mount. It works for scam email and such so what better way to do it.

Wow... this is mind-boggling. I've only done Oculus since 3.3 hit, but it's been a damned joke. The only thing I dislike about it? I have the directional sense of a rock. Seriously, I get lost in my own bathroom sometimes, so the wide-open architecture can be a liability for me. But then I just follow someone who knows where they're going. Otherwise, the difficulty of the dungeon is quite overrated (since 3.3 at least) and the time sink is honestly no worse than any other dungeon. Yeah, you can plow through some other heroics in 10 minutes, but that's only with grossly overgeared people in a pre-made. If you're rolling with Johnny Pickup from some realm you've never heard of, chances are good that all the heroics are gonna take about 20 minutes, which is fine by me.

What irritates me about this is that I don't do random dungeons anymore. I spammed the motherfucking hell out of them and am all badged out, unless I wanna get a Wooly Mammoth for 200 tokens. I rarely got sent to the Oculus, anyhow, it was usually shit like the Old Kingdom.
