Appartment vs new job advice
Ok i am simply looking for advice here.
I got a new job January 6th 2010, and as for now everything goes fine.
I also found this appartment at 1h car from work, that is like 550/month for a 4 1/2.
So for all of you who got lots of Life and Work experience, should i wait till like Summer to get an appartment, or should i jump on this opportunity???
The job i have right now, doesn't have like work 3 months and get permanance, i can stay there forever, like in 1 year he can kick me out of the job if he wants to.
So advice me please
Edit : full story
Ok here we go.
I currently live with my Parents, i am 24 year old, and i have a good bunch on money in my account, (i cannot tell you how much but i have more then 15k).
MY girlfriend and I live at 45min difference, and she can't move out with me for 2 years due to parents problem (her parents are divorced and if she stays home till she finish school her dad don't have to pay her mom). Anyway
I work as a IT/Network Admin guy and i work at home for like 75% of time (i use VPN for those who knows Networking). When i move to a customer, the fartest one i go is about 38KM from home for about 34min of Car ride.
The place i wanna go is in a City called Mirabel, which is a kind of "Farm village" it's 17min from my Girlfriend's home and about 1h from my current home. The problem with that city is like the nearest Grocery shop is like at 13km from there, but the rest is close.
So the fartest place that i would go (which is the same place as if i was living at home right now) is 48km for 38min, so it's not that much farter.
My big problem like i said, is that since the city is a bit far in the road (15km away from a highroad) is that there is nothing much close, like the Grocery is 13KM from there and all, and since i have to drive from a small road, who knows if it's really taking care of when it snows.
But my real concern is that I started my Job in January 2010, even tho the job i have will never have a "permanace assurance" so i don'T know how long i can work there, of course if i do a good job he will keep me. But you never know when you start a new job.
Also the 18months lease is simple, the appartment suppose to be 600, but some girl manage to get it for 550 and broke her contract at half the year, so the guy said instead of going back to 600 or keep it at 550 for half a year, i will give it to you for 550 for 18months. So until july 2011.
So that is the full story, now you can judge easier
also i don't have living with my parrent,s i just wish i could get closer to my Girlfriend.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?
how long is the lease for?

And... where are you living right now?

tbh unless your home life sucks I wouldn't get it. Paying no money is better than paying 550 a month. also, a year and a half lease is kinda long if you're iffy on moving out.
however, if you're really itching to get out that could be a nice deal.

Stay where ever is cheaper. Save money as long as possible till you have to move to another option that is cheaper or more expensive. I moved out for a year and then had the chance to move home, and god do I enjoy living back home. A warm dinner every night and a really cheap rent. 150$, 500 cheaper then where I was every month.
Mainly, go with the cheapest option is what I say :c

Both posts above are good advice.
Edit: Save up money and get your own place/car/travel.

An hour drive isn't fun if you can avoid it. I spend 44 minutes each way to work and it really gets on you after a while.

Voted and posting in favor of stay at home.

I just moved out of my parent's place after having moved back. 4 years (my junior/senior years of college + 2 years @ a job) was plenty. Granted, don't do what I did, and not save if you decide to stay at home.
What made my decision easier, was that my commute was an hr and 15 minutes one way.
Now I'm 10 minutes away.

Can't you just find a reasonably priced place near where your job is? Commutes like that suck, especially if it's in rush hour.
Also let's be real, living with your parents severely cramps your style.

I do agree with the part of saying you live with your parents hurt your style. Kept me from a few girls coming over :c Parents were gone but wouldn't know when they get back. Shit sucks.

I also recommend staying at home.
You could always try to find someone looking for a roommate instead of signing a lease. Easier to get out of if work goes bad.
I think you should find someplace closer to where you work. I live a 15 minute bus ride from where I work and I still hate that amount of time. Of course, I live in Canada and it's fucking cold outside waiting for the bus.

So the OP is 24 and lives in Montreal (according to his profile). With the amount of hot chicks there, get your own place or at least a place with roommates near where you work, no question. Plus you'll have way more fun than watching primetime TV with mom and pops or worrying about "waking up your parents" when you come home at 11PM.
Seriously, unless you...
a) are broke
b) have a super cool rapport with your parents
c) have a large area in there house which is strictly your space (i.e. furnished basement)
d) are sephyuyx and have no chance of getting laid
it's time to leave the nest and have some fun

Damnit man, you live in Montreal and you want to make an hour long car commute in January? You're mad! Quebec freezes over like an ice rink.

Voted wait as well, mostly because a 1hour commute twice a day would be such a deal breaker to me.
